I’m inclined to go easy on Kung Fu Panda 3 because Norm of the North is so f*cking bad, and indeed, it is better than that garbage movie. There’s been some noise around Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber lately. I think it’s STAR Magazine that’s been calling a breakup? No one’s paying attention, really, because it’s STAR Magazine. Naomi wasn’t with Liev at the Golden Globes. That, presumably, was why STAR decided to jump on the story. Full Story

Idris Elba won twice at the SAG Awards on Saturday, first for his performance in Beasts Of No Nation and then for his performance in Luther. He was also nominated, alongside his Beasts Of No Nation co-star Abraham Attah, for Best Ensemble. And while they were presenting the film together, Idris opened with the statement: “Welcome to diverse TV”. Full Story

I will say this for The Boy: Dolls are inherently creepy, and trees are not, so it’s already better than The Forest. I will also add this: It is not worse than Dirty Grandpa. So far, in the Annual January Movie Sh*tshow, The Boy is batting a thousand, just by virtue of not being humiliating or about trees. Full Story

Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund in Mojave

Part noir, part Western, part black comedy, part inside Hollywood drama, Mojave is a Frankenstein movie, a genre mash-up where not all parts are created equal. Garrett Hedlund stars as Tom, a filmmaker whose life and career seems to have hit rock bottom. Written and directed by William Monahan (the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed), one of the smart things about Mojave is that it doesn’t bog us down with expository details. Full Story

As mentioned earlier, Ryan Gosling was one on the Academy’s first list of presenters released yesterday. The Big Short might be making a late surge in the Oscar race. Ryan’s obviously going to support his film but also to get a head start on promoting The Nice Guys, coming out in April. Full Story

Here are photos of Chris Evans and Chadwick Boseman on set for Captain America: Civil War reshoots in Los Angeles this week. Evans is sporting some serious fake bruises on his face, which means Cap is getting his ass handed to him at some point. Boseman looks fine because Black Panther is smart and wears a full-face mask. Full Story

Yesterday I wrote about Leonardo DiCaprio and Don’s Plum, the film he shot almost 20 years ago with his boys Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly that he and Tobey had blocked from North America. Click here for a refresher. As mentioned, the filmmaker decided to make Don’s Plum available online for free. Full Story

Natalie Portman wants you to know she’s “back,” and can also hold a tune with Sia and Jimmy Fallon. She’s doing US press for the first time since Thor: The Dark World in Nov. 2013, this time for the beleaguered, woman-centric western Jane Got a Gun that she produced and stars in (which will likely flop Full Story

I haven’t posted about Colin Farrell in a LONG time. Like since August. Despite the fact that he’s actually never looked better. Look at him. He’s SO hot. But he’s also been really, really quiet. Quietly living, quietly working. He’s in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Full Story
