As you know, Bond is on hold because MGM went broke. But that doesn’t mean he’s not working. He is working a lot. He’s working on Cowboys & Aliens with Harrison Ford, directed by Jon Favreau, and they panelled this weekend at Comic-Con. Am told the script for this is amazing. Scheduled for release at the end of July 2011, Cowboys & Aliens is one of the most highly anticipated features next summer, and even Harrison Ford made an appearance to tweak the Nerd Herd. He was brought out in cuffs, no press, but that in itself was enough to get the sh-t going. A lot of people think Cowboys will be massive. And Olivia Wilde is in it too. Don’t ask me, I don’t understand it either but between this and Tron her agent is doing good work.

Like Ford, Daniel Craig also kept a low profile during his stay in San Diego. Aside from the panel, he participated at a photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly (Nina Dobrev from Vampire Diaries and Degrassi gushed to me about meeting him there) and kept his stern face on when spotted by paps leaving the convention centre. Hot.

As for those reports that he’s doing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a month ago he was close to signing although, to my recollection, there hasn’t been an official announcement. I’m sure you know-it-alls will correct me if I’ve “misremembered”.

Please note however that Carey Mulligan is NOT, repeat NOT playing Lisbeth Salander. She killed those rumours last week. I guess I could live with Mia Wasikowska but I’d rather live with only Noomi Rapace and no one else.
