I’m still choked about Serena last week. I’m also choked that people are blaming Drake. They don’t give her enough credit when she wins and they can’t even give her credit when she loses. But while I can’t move on, she obviously has. Serena Williams presented her Signature Collection by HSN yesterday at NY Fashion Week. Full Story
Dear Gossips,The smile on Venus Williams’s face when she hugged Serena at the net after losing to her in the quarterfinals at the US Open last night – it was as real as it gets. And so genuinely sweet. We didn’t know if we’d get another opportunity to watch them play against each other again after Wimbledon. Read Full Intro

Serena Williams won the Cincinnati Masters yesterday which is the last warmup before the US Open. She lost last week in Toronto so it was a nice comeback to build momentum heading to New York. No jinx. No jinx. NO JINX. But first… a little time to celebrate before turning her focus to the final slam of the year. Full Story

This is for NM, her Gossip Genie wish, as according to her, “I’d like him more if he was with Serena”. Anyway there’s a rumour happening that Serena Williams and Drake are dating. Because he attended several of her matches last week. And now it’s been reported that they were making out in the clubhouse. Full Story
Dear Gossips,Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova in straight sets yesterday at Wimbledon to get to the finals. You know what I don’t appreciate? Because I’m so superstitious? People are already handing her the win. Don’t call a shutout before the shutout, right? Stop this now. Read Full Intro
Venus Williams is 35. Serena Williams is 33. They met on Centre Court at Wimbledon yesterday and while it wasn’t a classic match, the significance here is that it might not happen again. The Williams sisters have dominated this sport for almost 20 years. Between them, they hold 27 grand slams – and that number only includes singles titles! It also doesn’t count Olympic gold medals. Also, if you count how many doubles and mixed doubles championships they share, it’s over 50. You cannot overstate their impact and influence. Sometimes though, I feel like people don’t care enough – about how they became who they are in a sport that wasn’t exactly welcoming, and what they fought through: themselves and everyone else. I’ve linked to it before but I’ll never get tired of this article so I’m going to link to it again – in my opinion the best piece ever written on Venus and Serena Williams, by John Jeremiah Sullivan for the New York Times. Click here.
For all that they’ve done, and how much they’ve won, do you think they get enough respect?

Serena Williams covers the April issue of VOGUE. I love this photo. I love that Serena Williams looks like Serena Williams. I love that Serena Williams isn’t posing with her tennis racquet or tossing a ball up and down like that’s the only way you’d recognise her. You shouldn’t have to recognise her that way. Full Story
Wimbledon started today. On the women’s side, world #1 Serena Williams is heavily favoured, riding a 31 match win streak into the tournament. Serena was profiled recently in Rolling Stone – a controversial interview for several reasons, one of which we’ll get into later – and the writer argued that no one is as dominant in his or her sport as Serena Williams.
