Bradley Cooper Gossip
Bradley Cooper gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
Deadline reported exclusively yesterday that Warner Bros and Bradley Cooper are working on a deal for him to direct the third (or is it fourth?) remake of A Star Is Born. Warner Bros has a short list of favourite actors: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy, Ben Affleck. Right now, off the success of American Sniper, Cooper’s looking a lot like an Affleck contemporary. He’s arguably a better actor. And Clint Eastwood loves him. The question, when watching Serena, is “Where did this go wrong?” Shot in 2012, it re-teamed proven screen couple Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence for an adaptation of Ron Rash’s novel directed by Susanne Bier, an award-winning Danish filmmaker. There’s a lot of talent on both sides of the camera in Serena, so why did it sit on the shelves for three years before getting a hasty, barely-there release? Answer: “Because it’s a mess featuring bad performances. Full Story

Three years in a row now. And he’s working with David O Russell and Jennifer Lawrence again on Joy, which is currently in production. Joy is supposed to open on Christmas Day. That means they think it has awards potential. So Bradley Cooper could be back for a fourth consecutive nomination. Sometimes I have a really hard time believing this. Full Story

American Sniper broke all kinds of records at the box office this weekend, right after the film was nominated for several Oscars. And it’s not a headline that Oscar voters would have missed. Which means it’s not a legitimate contender for Best Picture. And maybe don’t count out Bradley Cooper for Best Actor. You don’t think he’ll just concede to Michael Keaton, do you?

Much like Jake Gyllenhaal (for Nightcrawler), Bradley Cooper is currently off the conventional Oscar circuit (for American Sniper) and is making a starring turn on Broadway in The Elephant Man until February. I saw The Elephant Man last week – B. Coops was incredible in it. His scene partner Patricia Clarkson outshined him, but that’s hardly a reflection of his talent or complete immersion in the role. Bradley Cooper is shooting a movie in New Orleans. Suki Waterhouse is there with him. She went shopping yesterday and also visited him on set where they were photographed having a conversation. That’s the most neutral way to describe it. And, probably, the most accurate. But let’s play our favourite game anyway: Photo Assumption, drawing unreliable conclusions based simply on how people look in pictures. Full Story

His voice performance in the role is said to be outstanding. Full Story
