Here’s Jake Gyllenhaal shooting Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals yesterday in Manhattan Beach, California and looking pissy in the rain in one scene. We’ve been talking today about the Sexiest Man Alive announcement and whether or not David Beckham was always the first and only choice. Full Story

Carey Mulligan was given the Hollywood Actress Award last night at the Hollywood Film Awards for her work in Suffragette which, frankly, hasn’t been buzzing the way people expected it would in terms of its awards potential. Carey, however, does have a legitimate chance at a nomination for Best Actress although she trails Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan on momentum. Full Story

I wrote about Jake Gyllenhaal’s height investigation on Starlee Kine’s Mystery Show back in June. Click here for a refresher. He was soooo f-cking cute on that phone call. It was the giggling, it was playfulness, it was practically phone sex in my mind. Full Story

Actually, I should say that it’s Jason Clarke in Everest because Jake Gyllenhaal has a relatively small role and disappears from the film for long stretches, but he’s being treated in the publicity materials like he’s the star, and I don’t know how many of you are really here for Jason Clarke, while I know there are a bunch of us scanning for Jake G. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal opened TIFF on Thursday. On Friday he was in New York participating in the Cantor Fitzgerald annual charity day. Last night however he was back in Toronto, hanging out at the Shangri-La lobby with his brother-in-law, Peter Sarsgaard, and Joel Edgerton who are here for Black Mass. Then Dakota Johnson came to join them. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal has been on a TREMENDOUS run these last few years, throwing down ace performance after ace performance, including a Hall of Fame-level Cinematic Weirdo in Nightcrawler’s Lou Bloom. In Jean-Marc Vallee’s Demolition he offers another take on the Cinematic Weirdo, this time starring as Davis, a repressed, buttoned-up financier whose life implodes after his wife dies. Full Story

Everest will open the Venice Film Festival tonight and begin a possible run to Oscar. Early reviews are solid but no one’s out of their mind either. Jake has a supporting role in Everest even though so much of the hype around the film suggests that he’s a big part of it. Full Story

Jake Gyllenhaal and Dakota Johnson? Not the greatest source but let’s discuss the possibility. Radar Online (like I said, not the greatest source) is reporting that Jake and Dakota were seen together at a club in LA last week. Apparently it’s a super secret club and so exclusive that there’s not even a name for it yet. Full Story

After helping to get End of Watch and Nightcrawler made, Jake Gyllenhaal is making it official and opening his own production company. The name of his company is not yet known, but he’s just signed a first-look deal with Bold Films, the production company behind Nightcrawler. He’s also nabbed Riva Marker, who has produced dozens of films including The Kids Are All Right, Beasts of No Nation, and The Family Fang, to run his company. Full Story
