Forbes has released its list of the top earning actresses in Hollywood. Sandra Bullock came in at #1 with $51 million between June 2013 and June 2014. Happy 50th Birthday, Sandy! In second place is Jennifer Lawrence. She made $34 million. Third belongs to Jennifer Aniston at $31 million. The fourth place actress is Gwyneth Paltrow at $19 million. In fifth place is Angelina Jolie.
Now I don’t want to take away from any of their accomplishments but this is Hollywood, where careers are built and broken by romance and romantic partners. And that connection is undeniable where the three women in the #3, 4, and 5 spots are concerned.
If however they took into consideration that CBS just finalised the new deal for Big Bang Theory, it would actually be Kaley Cuoco in Paltrow’s position because she’s now making Aniston Friends money -- $1 million per episode over 24 episodes a season for the next 3 seasons. Read Full Intro
Angelina Jolie gave an interview to Australia TV Week magazine. Advance press for Unbroken, I guess. The Jolie was in Australia during production. At the same time, Brad Pitt was working on Fury in England, even though they once said they’d not take on jobs concurrently. For her though, telling Louis Zamperini’s story, it became an exception. Brad Pitt was seen at Marseilles airport yesterday on his own, without the Jolie or the kids. Possible reasons for travel: Stopping in to check on Chateau Miraval. Or, there’s some kind of art show happening and he’s heading there to look at some installations. Wearing his favourite t-shirt illustrated by one of his children. Full Story
The first trailer for Unbroken, Angelina Jolie’s second film as a director, has been released and it has Oscar Bait stamped all over it: Sweeping music, dazzling visuals, a story about a scrappy survivor, World War II, and a family-friendly Christmas release date. If Unbroken is even half as good as advertised, it’s a shoo-in for nominations next year. Full Story

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went out for dinner on Saturday night at Ago in West Hollywood. They wore their uniforms: black for her and those everyday pants for him. Unfortunately they did not make out in the backseat when they were leaving even though I’m imagining it in their faces. Come on. Full Story

Angelina Jolie arrived in Tokyo on Saturday ahead of today’s Japanese premiere of Maleficent – those shots are coming up in the next post. She had four of the six with her, I guess because Maddox and Miss Zahara accompanied her and Brad Pitt to London a couple of weeks ago for the Global Summit To End Sexual Violence In Conflict. It’s Dame Angelina now. Queen Elizabeth made Angelina Jolie an honourer Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George on Friday on a Birthday Honours list that also included Daniel Day-Lewis, Maggie Smith, and Damian Lewis. Some of you complained. And I would agree with you – that she’s a Hollywood star, and an American, and sure she just came off a busy week for the Global Summit To End Sexual Violence In Conflict but there are non-famous heroes who deserve recognition and crabby crabby crabby crabby crabby crabby – but, you know, talk to me when you’re finished bitching about the guy from Homeland. You know when professional athletes arrive at the arena and they’re required by the league to be dressed in business attire? It looks good. Really good. To see them walking in a group, sometimes with their headphones on, in their custom cut suits and their game faces on. I would rather this than athletes posing for underwear campaigns. Full Story
