Jennifer Lawrence Gossip
Jennifer Lawrence gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
Do you subscribe to Lena Dunham’s Lenny? If you do, you would have received the third newsletter today which includes an article written by Jennifer Lawrence about being paid less than her male co-stars. We’ll get to that later.
Maria noted in her last post about Lenny that the newsletter, as opposed to other celebrity lifestyle projects, is, actually, about reading. She’s shared short stories, she’s interviewed Hillary Clinton, there’s the aforementioned Jennifer Lawrence essay, and my favourite from the current issue, a piece called How Sports Gave Me Swagger by Gina Prince-Bythewood. You might know Gina from Love & Basketball or The Secret Life Of Bees, or most recently, Beyond The Lights, starring the extraordinary Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Gina wrote and directed them all. And she posits here, in Lenny, that playing sports contributed to her confidence, supporting a theory that was also put forward in a book I promoted last year called The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance – What Women Should Know by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. The authors of The Confidence Code found that girls who stay in sport longer are more resilient and experienced in risk vs reward, an asset that served them well through adulthood. As Gina points out, 90% of female CEOs played sports. 90%!!!
So, yeah, that’s what I learned today at Lenny. I also learned what it’s like to become Grace Jones via Doreen St Felix. One of the criticisms of Lena Dunham’s Girls is that her show and the world it observes is not inclusive and diverse. Has she heard that feedback? Has she evolved from it? Both Gina Prince-Bythewood and Doreen St Felix are featured prominently in Lenny No 3. Lena is trying.

PS...we updated the mobile site this weekend to address a few glitches. In doing so we had to do away with the swipe navigation to jump from article to article. More updates are coming but for the time being, if you prefer reading the site "bottom to top", you will need to jump back to the home page. We will be adding a "left arrow" navigation shortly. Thanks for your patience!

Are we over-squadding? Are we over squadding? I think so, yes. But before we kill it, here’s the squad that’s keeping it alive. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth have started promotion for Mockingjay 2, the end of The Hunger Games. All three were with Josh Horowitz for an MTV interview around the “campfire”. And, of course, because it’s Jennifer Lawrence, part of the conversation became about their most disgusting habits. In incredibly meaningless and frivolous news today, the internet’s pretend best friends, Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence, are writing a movie together. Make no mistake, their friendship is real, as JLaw says they were “creatively made for each other” and that writing a screenplay with Schumer has been the “most fun experience” of her life. Chris Martin was out in New York yesterday with a friend. The friend is sort of kind of similar to Gwyneth Paltrow, right? I could totally picture G wearing this, couldn’t you? No idea yet who she is. But at one point in the day they were seen heading into the Carlyle Hotel together. Which doesn’t have to mean anything, although the paps are certainly wondering if it means he and Jennifer Lawrence might not be a thing anymore. Full Story
The official poster for David O Russell’s upcoming Joy, starring Jennifer Lawrence, was released today. Look up for Joy? Is that the idea here? Wasn’t my train of thought. My train of thought was that I wanted to write about Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone today and then this poster arrived in my inbox which reminded me of the time Emma looked up too – when she lipsynched All I Do Is Win on Jimmy Fallon: And that gave me the perfect segue to talk about Emma and Jennifer being friends and how Twitter (via Susan, thanks Susan!) told me they went out for dinner – no one knows when this happened but the photo just surfaced a few days ago. I just realised it’s Friday and I haven’t written once about Taylor Swift’s friend collecting. She’s gone an entire week without collecting a friend! Does that mean the backlash really is in full effect? In the absence of any updates to Taylor Swift Collection, we have Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence. Full Story
It’s here. The final chapter. I have to give this trailer credit – I feel more excited about the end of Mockingjay than I thought I would, given how empty and flat the story left me feeling years ago. The fights were too endless, the blasts too uniform, and I stopped feeling anything. Full Story
