Wait before you laugh. I'm not saying she's going to be nominated. But Johnny Depp is one of the favourites for a nomination this season for his performance in Black Mass. Which he claims he doesn't want to win. But the nomination? He'll take it. Because, for one, his wife will want to go.

Amber Heard though wants you to know that she's more than her looks and her marriage. That she's an artist. That she's all about the work, a high level of work. This might come as a surprise to you if you've seen Magic Mike XXL since she basically played a corpse but, nevertheless, Amber's all about wanting to be seeing the same kind of scripts that are being sent to Carey Mulligan. So here she is at the premiere of The Danish Girl, making sure everyone is aware that she's in a movie that could play at the Oscars, like she had anything to do with it.

The Danish Girl works on the talent of both Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander. You could say that it actually wouldn't work without Alicia at all. The film has nothing to do with Amber Heard. There is nothing intrinsically about Amber Heard that adds to or even takes away from the story. Some might argue that that's a skill. For an actor to come on to a project and not detract from the greater good, the greater good in this case being the leads. True. It is a skill. And it's why supporting actors are invaluable.

Do you really think that Amber Heard sees herself as a supporting actor?

PS. Does she even look at him anymore? When they're leaving to go to the event, does she bother or at this point is it self-preservation? Or, if you're wearing this Dolce&Gabbana suit the way she's wearing it, maybe she's all she sees.
