You know,  sometimes – often – I rail about how people should try to give their children names of equal heft and style, so that they don’t feel they’re unequal from the start. You know, balance that sibling rivalry. I always think about the siblings I met at the park called George and Eden. Full Story

Jennifer Love Hewitt named her son Atticus. Did you know that one of the reasons she has the ‘Love’ in her name, or that she used it professionally, was to distinguish herself from all the other Jennifers? True story. It kind of worked, in that she’s the only Jennifer Love going. Full Story

I do not have anything bad to say about the name Rafael. In fact, I think it’s gorgeous. If you’re one of the people who cares about the baby name thing, you know it’s becoming more popular now. If you’re one of the people who hates the whole subject, shhhhh it’ll all be over soon. Full Story

Once Upon A Time, a boy named Justin met a girl named Jessica, and they fell in love and got married. Of course they did.  Because Jessica was the number one girls’ name for years and years – taking over from Jennifer. And Justin, while it was never as popular, is still very, very popular. Full Story

Let’s be honest, Milla Jovovich would not be featured for the birth of her child if she had not chosen a name that really makes my eyes roll. So she and her husband already had a daughter named Ever, which, fine, I dislike but can swallow, I guess. But they just named their second daughter Dashiel Eden. Full Story

Don’t you get the impression that Isaiah Michael Fisher is going to be called “Isaiah Michael Fisher” all the time? Like all three names, as an official label, like ‘William of Windsor’? Carrie Underwood has named her baby Isaiah Michael, and I cannot actually find a problem with it. Full Story

This is ridiculous. This? This is what we were waiting for, all cutesy-poo ‘we can’t tell you’ secret baby names and nurses under-gag-order styles?  James? James Reynolds. Or Lively Reynolds. Or whatnot. I mean, it’s still only from E! Full Story

Chris O’Dowd and Dawn O’Porter named their baby son Art O’Porter, and here is the picture they tweeted of him: Come on! Usually I don’t comment on last names, because the acquisition of those is less a choice by the parents than an inheritance from generations and generations before them, but choosing O’Porter makes a nice balance to lovely Art. Full Story

Does it seem like Zoe Saldana had the shortest pregnancy? Sometimes the celeb pregnancies go on for years, it feels like. I know there are ways in which it’s not their fault – if it’s about to leak you kind of have to announce early or else pull a Mendes and deny altogether.  So. Full Story

Well, they cleared the first hurdle. When you name your first daughter Lincoln, you are morally obligated not to call the second one Rebecca, or even Kira. You have to match tone, and I think they did. Both all Americana, nostalgia and a good dose of southernness, which is amusing given that Shepherd and Bell are both from Michigan, so they’re virtually Canadian. Full Story

Princess Charlene of Monaco gave birth to twins on Wednesday, a boy and a girl.  The girl is older by two minutes, but because of the laws of succession running through males only, he’ll be the heir to the throne, not her.  So, compared to that irritating and antiquated turn of events, the nonmatching twin names are downright admirable. Full Story

Apparently today is the day for me to get sickly-sweetness stuck in my throat from all the fairytail-y goodness going on. It makes you pray for the utter depravity that is Scandal. I had forgotten, until Us Weekly reminded me, that Briar Rose, the name chosen by Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson for their baby, is a name used as kind of a decoy for Princess Aurora in sleeping beauty. Full Story

You think they’re fantastic and where have they been all your life and then you realize, with a ‘chonk’ in your stomach, that they are about to reveal to you that they are not perfect. Full Story
