James Franco Gossip
James Franco gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
A 17 year old girl, soon to be 18, called Lucy, went to New York this week to pre-celebrate her milestone birthday. She went to see a few shows. At some point, after Of Mice & Men, she met James Franco. They took some pictures. She posted those pictures on social media, tagging him in some of the shots. Full Story
I was about to go to bed last night when the news alert came across that Tony Abbott, the Prime Minister of Australia, announced in Parliament that debris that may be related to MH370 was found off the Australian coast. As of post time, they’re still checking it out and can’t say for sure. The satellite images were captured 4 days ago. So now even more questions. Why did it take this long for that information to come out? Also I’m starting to think that satellites can’t see as much sh-t as I originally thought they could.
But the internet continues to try and solve this mystery. Thanks to all of you who sent me this link about the electrical fire theory written by pilot Chris Goodfellow using Google Earth. Read Full Intro
James Franco. He acts, he directs, he writes (or tries to), he paints and sculpts, he does it all because he is The Artist. And now The Artist is becoming The Master.
James Franco is opening an acting school. He will pass on the craft to aspiring actors at Studio 4 using “Meisner technique as well as several advanced classes and projects following Franco’s creative visions”. This is how he’s leaving his legacy – just imagine, in 20 years, our entertainers will be his disciples. When you go to the theatre (will people still go to the theatre in 20 years?), when you watch TV, or watch your phone (because we’ll likely only be consuming programming through our phones by then), you’ll be watching Franco’s creative spawn. Here are James Franco and Seth Rogen with some puppies on the set of their new movie. So… about that Bound 2 parody video that they made… Wasn’t funny to me. Sorry? I thought the original was funny. Like, hilarious. James and Seth? Not really. What’s the gag? That two straight dudes are simulating the sex? Not my kind of humour. Full Story
Sandra Bullock + Las Vegas. Sure. Julia Roberts + Las Vegas. Yeah. Oceans Eleven. Cameron Diaz + Las Vegas. Of course. One actress that doesn’t go with Las Vegas… Winona Ryder. Right? She was at the premiere of Homefront last night with Jason Statham, James Franco, and Kate Bosworth, looking the least comfortable of all of them. Full Story
James Franco, The Artist, reviewed 12 Years A Slave for VICE this week. I wonder if it’s a stipulation for Franco, whenever he writes for anyone, that he will not be edited. Not for content but for the basics. Like the proper title of the movie which is 12 Years A Slave and not Twelve Years A Slave. Full Story
Here’s a tweet that had people talking this week – attached. More Oscar campaigning for James Franco’s performance in Spring Breakers. As I’ve previously noted, he was excellent in the film. Franco is a magnificent actor. And if Michael Fassbender doesn’t want to be Best Supporting Actor for 12 Years A Slave, fine. Franco can take on Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club).
Here’s a game that appeared on Flavorwire that also had people talking this week – Who Wrote It: James Franco or Jenna Jameson? Apparently it’s hard to tell the difference between Franco’s new book Actors Anonymous and Jenna Jameson’s new book Sugar. Read Full Intro
It’s TIFF time! The festival starts today. Traffic stops moving in Toronto today. I officially stop sleeping for the next two weeks today. Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts are coming. TOGETHER. So…who has time for sleep?
As it was during previous festivals, the blog will be business as usual, perhaps even heavier. In addition to posting full festival coverage here at LaineyGossip.com, I’ll also be reporting from the red carpets and the junkets for etalk and shooting The Social, our live daily afternoon talk show, every day. And I’ll have a daily column in The Globe & Mail as their festival party correspondent. So… if there’s a typo or two during the next few days, please accept my apologies in advance. Read Full Intro
Nothing like starting off the day with a mega eye roll. No one delivers mega eye roll like James Franco. Franco movies, Franco books, Franco poetry, Franco sculpture, Franco painting… Now Franco TV. It was announced yesterday that the Ovation network in the US will launch James Franco Presents in November, a 10 part “anthology series” that will, according Robert Weiss, the network’s chief creative officer, show “the word of art through James’ eyes. The Artist James Franco went to play paintball with some friends yesterday in New York. Is the Artist making a movie about paintball? Writing a poem about paintball? Paintballing an installation? Or does the Artist actually have some free time on his hand for leisure? Nah. It’s probably a paintball sculpture, whatever that might look like. Full Story
Have you seen Spring Breakers yet? I put it on my iPad for my flight from Vancouver to Toronto the other day. Not really the best idea. Watching it on one of the plane’s personal seat viewers is one thing. But viewing it from your iPad, with much better resolution, so that the people around you can see your screen if they’re looking, is totally different. Full Story

James Franco. Are you groaning yet? We haven’t even started! Franco announced on Instagram (OF COURSE) that he will be the guest of honour at a Comedy Central roast. Usually he’s piling onto his schedule, signing up for new projects, new degrees, new artistic collaborations, but James Franco has, just two weeks before production was slated to begin, dropped out of his latest directorial effort, Garden of Last Days, in which he was also going to star. But he had a tantrum over creative differences and left the production in the lurch, and it will likely shut down as a result. Full Story
