Duana Names: Putting A Name Into Action
Duana, I've always been into baby names, but now that I'm looking at putting a name into action this June, I finally have a good reason to spend all my time on name sites! I always wanted something "normal" but not everyday... I was one of 11 "Laurens" in my third grade class. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Mrs Timberlake’s dogs and stripes
Always said that Mrs Timberlake’s casual style is infinitely superior to her red carpet style. Here’s another good example – Mrs Timberlake out with the dogs in New York in a cute striped skirt under a leather jacket with a pair of kicks. She looks SO good and I’m totally jacking this outfit from top to bottom. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Two peplums
Sophia Bush looks great in this peplum pantsuit. And that surprises me because I hate lace and I hate when lace is lined with nude. But somehow, here, it works. As for Zhang Ziyi – that peplum is huge. I wonder if it’s too huge or if it’s maybe the colour. Maybe if it were brighter I’d be more excited. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Lea’s dusty pink
Couple of years ago, Duana wrote a post called Tall Isn’t Cute, about the limitations of tall girl dressing, and her thoughts on tall girls in baby doll dresses. Click here for a refresher. Full Article

Carpets & Candids: Elsa’s sparkly romper
It looks like a romper, doesn’t it? Sasha found some rompers recently. Click here if you missed that post. I don’t hate this on Elsa though I could do without the sparkles. It’s those silver shoes that are grossing me out. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Anne’s equestrian arrival
Asadorian-Mejia/ Splash
Love this look on her. That jacket is a great fit over an untucked shirt. Pants seem comfortable for airport wear. Well worn boots and glasses complete the outfit. Might have to rip this off. Full Article
Smutty Fitness: On Tracy Anderson’s “bulk” aversion
Hi Hayley, So I've recently started using Tracy Anderson's mat workout DVD and I'm really enjoying it. My question starts with the fact that Ms. Anderson states that a woman should never lift more than a three pound weight; otherwise she'll end up looking "bulky." I have an autoimmune disease and because of it I was on prednisone a number of years. Full Article
Sasha Answers: Will my mother-in-law steal my baby?
Sasha, My kid is due in 4 days (planned & medically necessary c-section). I am not worried about the OP. However, I wake up sometimes in the middle of the night (like, now) and my mind races - so much so that I can't easily get back to sleep. Because I'm obsessed with my mother in law. Full Article
Duana Names: First names for Jane
Hello!! I absolutely love reading your name column! It is especially helpful as we are expecting our second in a few months. I am definitely someone who needs time to mull over a name, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Our first is Jackson Glenn (the middle name is my dad's and in our defence, we lived under a rock and had no idea it was so popular until after). Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Milla in Cannes in my favourite Chanel
This Chanel couture dress was the standout piece for me from what I called Lagerfeld’s demented Alice In Wonderland collection for SS2013. Click here to see the runway. Milla Jovovich wears it well but I think I prefer it with the belt. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: SJP’s pulled-up jeans
I don’t know how else to describe it. As you can see, she seems to have pulled them up until they won’t go higher on her calves, see? Do you get it? I don’t get it. Is this a new thing now? Like instead of rolling? Did she just want to show off her shoes? Full Article
Smutty Fitness: Yoga & Prehabilitation
Hi Lainey, What is KD? I’m assuming it’s a Canadian food or drink that is not healthy but probably delicious and addicting? And on to my other question #1. How much are aches and pains a part of an active lifestyle (and getting older, alas) and to what degree should they be/can they be ignored and worked through vs. Full Article
Carpets & Candids: Naomi’s Cannes floral print
Dolce & Gabbana. It’s not the best floral print I’ve ever seen and I’m usually meh on a strapless dress but what really saves the look is that they resisted making it shorter. That’s the perfect length for this particular full skirt. Full Article
