Parenthood 5?
Parenthood panelled at PaleyFest yesterday. Deadline reported on the discussion. Needless to say, for fans of the show, the big question is whether or not the show will be back for Season 5. Is Jason Katims used to it by now? Because it was like this with Friday Night Lights too. Full Story
16 and Pregnant…on Network TV
Parenthood. I mean, when it has punches to throw, it really does, you know? Last week, in the middle of an already heartpunching episode, it seems almost ridiculous that they also took on a teen pregnancy storyline (and that they waited this long to deploy it) but it was actually much more interesting this way than if either Amber or Haddie had gotten pregnant. Young couple frolicking for Parenthood
I can’t decide what I like best about these shots of Mae Whitman and Matt Lauria making out on camera for scenes in an upcoming Parenthood. A real front-runner is Mae’s stance – that wide-legged totally off balance pose is kind of hysterical to me, outlining both the wee-ness of her, and my projection that Amber couldn’t take a romantic move like kissing in the ocean without poking a little bit of fun at it. Sons Of Anarchy and Parenthood so far
Even though there’s a whisper going around that nobody’s watching the fall TV premieres and oh God, what does that mean, it’s actually early in the season and most shows haven’t got off the ground just yet. The ones that had early-September launches then need to make some big moves so they can still have your interest when the newer shows start. Full Story

…Including Billy Riggins. (Lainey: what? Billy Riggins is on this show??? Why didn’t you SAY SO?) I’ve been trying to figure out who the Parenthood viewer is. It’s not everyone, because then the ratings would be, you know, up. I used to think it was about those of us who fantasize about big families, but it isn’t that either. Full Story
On Parenthood.
I was up late last night. Couldn’t fall asleep. There are any number of reasons why this could be, not least of which was listening to a public radio report about insomnia yesterday. The most likely candidate, though, is something my mother said. Of course. ‘They f*ck you up, your mum and dad/They may not mean to but they do” goes the poem, and I love that no matter what changes, some things stay the same. Full Story
Parenthood – Season II Finale
Written by Duana Thank you all so, so much for your impassioned emails of the last couple of weeks. I’ve really loved them. I’ve been procrastinating writing this article. I know enough about myself by now to know that when I do that, it means that I’m worried about the project I’m working on. Full Story
You’re No Tami Taylor
Written by Duana There comes a time in every TV program’s life where, despite your crossing your fingers, they do the thing that you wish they hadn’t. They betray you in a way that is painful, and hurts, because you keep hoping they’re tricking you, and going to a place that you weren’t fully sure you knew of. Full Story

Written by Duana Okay, previously on Parenthood, Julia wasn’t pregnant, and then she learned it was because of IntraUterine Scarring. Camille incredulously asked whether Sarah was up all night writing her play, and she grinned. Zeke told Richard Dreyfuss that Sarah’s play was amazing, Amber didn’t get into Berkeley, and in case you missed it, Crosby slept with Minka Kelly and Jasmine was really mad about it. Full Story

Written by Duana Welcome to the inaugural Parenthood recap! A few months ago on this site I wrote a Parenthood Primer (click here) but when we decided to do these recaps, Parenthood immediately went on hiatus for a few weeks. Full Story
