Full disclosure: I have a thing for James Franco. He's on my list - usually at the top. Lainey may call him the "Artist," and think he can be insufferable, but in my mind, he's a phenomenal talent. I respect his creative flexibility, his academic pursuits, acting skills and Seth Rogen obsession. Full Story
What boy band would it be? Is he a New Kid? Or a Backstreet? Do you see him ‘NSYNC? I think maybe Color Me Badd. Doesn’t get much skeezier than Color Me Badd, so, like, perfect for a dude who creeps on young girls on social media. What freaks me out though is that there are some of you looking at this – you know who you are – who are kinda turned on. Full Story
It’s amazing how tolerable James Franco becomes when he’s working with Seth Rogen. It might be Rogen’s ability to bring out the best in anyone, or maybe it’s seeing their real friendship bleed into their performances together, but when Franco is working opposite Rogen, I almost forget about his Instagram Full Story
I made a mistake. Duana and I are working in our hotel room in Banff between meetings. I just made her read James Franco’s new short story, ostensibly about Lindsay Lohan but, really, about how he’s the new Walter Winchell. What a waste of time, time we don’t really have. So she’s mad at me. Full Story

Johnny Depp’s fiancée is currently shooting a movie in New York with James Franco, The Adderall Diaries. The story is about HIS character, obviously. They look like they get on well. Magazines keep putting her on the cover. With nothing to promote…except the fact that Johnny Depp asked her to marry him. Full Story

James Franco was at the AOL Newfronts yesterday in New York to promote his new webseries Making A Scene With James Franco in which he and his friends cerebrally discuss their favourite cinematic moments and then re-create them with their own twist. Does this guy do original material anymore? He’s like the all-time cover artist of pop culture. Full Story
There’s a new James Franco exhibit at Pace Gallery in New York. It’s a big deal to be at Pace. Which, I suppose, means that your sh-t has to be good. Or at least that’s what it used to mean. Franco’s work is, he claims, an homage to Cindy Sherman’s Untitled Film Stills in which she shot herself in the stereotypical roles relegated to women – the more she produced, the louder her message: cinematically, women continue to be treated as second class citizens. A 17 year old girl, soon to be 18, called Lucy, went to New York this week to pre-celebrate her milestone birthday. She went to see a few shows. At some point, after Of Mice & Men, she met James Franco. They took some pictures. She posted those pictures on social media, tagging him in some of the shots. Full Story
I was about to go to bed last night when the news alert came across that Tony Abbott, the Prime Minister of Australia, announced in Parliament that debris that may be related to MH370 was found off the Australian coast. As of post time, they’re still checking it out and can’t say for sure. The satellite images were captured 4 days ago. So now even more questions. Why did it take this long for that information to come out? Also I’m starting to think that satellites can’t see as much sh-t as I originally thought they could.
But the internet continues to try and solve this mystery. Thanks to all of you who sent me this link about the electrical fire theory written by pilot Chris Goodfellow using Google Earth. Read Full Intro
James Franco. He acts, he directs, he writes (or tries to), he paints and sculpts, he does it all because he is The Artist. And now The Artist is becoming The Master.
James Franco is opening an acting school. He will pass on the craft to aspiring actors at Studio 4 using “Meisner technique as well as several advanced classes and projects following Franco’s creative visions”. This is how he’s leaving his legacy – just imagine, in 20 years, our entertainers will be his disciples. When you go to the theatre (will people still go to the theatre in 20 years?), when you watch TV, or watch your phone (because we’ll likely only be consuming programming through our phones by then), you’ll be watching Franco’s creative spawn.
