Tilda, Coco, and Kevin
Tilda Swinton is at Sundance promoting I Am Love. She is Woman. She is Best. She is Coco.
As you know, during his final monologue on The Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien joked that Tilda would play him on the HBO movie about the late night wars. When asked about this during the junket, Tilda said she was game:
"I would just be only too happy. Yes, yes, yes, absolutely. What I really would love to do is get him to do some of the things I get to do. It would be nice if he were here at Sundance maybe, wearing this coat, talking about I Am Love. And why not? Every girl should have a doppelganger."
This bitch is punk as f-ck. The real punk as f-ck, not the Ryan Adams version of punk as f-ck. I worship her. So hard.
Also, for you book fans out there, Tilda’s next project is We Need To Talk About Kevin, Lionel Shriver’s tragic but unforgettable discussion on motherhood, nature vs nuture, and ultimate personal accountability. It’s listed on this site as one of my Top 25 reads but if you haven’t already, steel yourself because it’s not easy. It hits too close, it’s very, very uncomfortable, and it doesn’t give you a safe way out. Or maybe that’s just me. I think I’d be Eva. I’d be the one to raise that kid.
Anyway, Tilda is playing the woman who raised that kid. Kevin will start shooting this year with a script that appeared on the Brit List as one of the best unproduced screenplays in British film. It’s one of those things, and you know if you’ve read it, I can’t wait but I also very much dread.
Here’s Tilda out and about in Park City with her lover.
