Hugh Jackman Gossip
Hugh Jackman gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
In this morning’s intro, Lainey asked what we thought of the Ian Somerhalder asking his fans to back off for the day. But putting him aside, I wonder what it’s like for Nikki Reed to constantly be on the periphery of hysteria. She had it with Twilight and Kristen and Rob, and now she’s married to someone who inspires that same type of, um, devotion. Full Story

A new trailer for the Peter Pan prequel no one asked for, Pan, is out and goddamn this movie looks terrible. After the first trailer, Lainey had some concerns, beginning with Hugh Jackman’s wig line. We now have much bigger problems than that, beginning with—when in the hell did Peter Pan become a special snowflake of destiny? Peter Pan is a twat. Full Story

Anne Hathaway’s Grounded, playing at the Public Theatre in New York until May 24, is receiving solid reviews. And even if critics aren’t in love with the entire production, her performance, not surprisingly, is being widely praised. As if there was any doubt. Even those of you who can’t stand her have to admit that she can act, non? Anne Hathaway has all the goods. Full Story
Yesterday Lainey wrote about RDJ walking out on an interview. When I watched the clip, the one thing that really struck me about it is how un-RDJ he was about it. This guy knows how to be a movie star, like George Clooney knows how to be a movie star and Julia Roberts knows how to be a movie star. Full Story

With his latest movie Chappie, South African director Neill Blomkamp officially enters The Wachowski Zone: His debut feature film was an impressive feat, and everything that has followed it is a flop mess. Chappie isn’t completely terrible—it’s not as off the rails as, say, Jupiter Ascending Full Story

Hugh Jackman is currently promoting Chappie. He was in Paris today for the photo call. The other day, during our Oscar all-nighter, Duana told me about an article that was written about Birdman. The writer hated it. And the title of his piece was: Is Birdman the first Best Picture winner that clearly hates its own audience? If you have time, it’s worth a read. Full Story

Anne Hathaway has been out there doing press for the upcoming Song One but since everyone’s in award season fever, she’s kind of moving under the radar. By her standards. Usually Annie tops the headlines. Here she is in New York in a green coat – great colour on her. Annie talked to Hitfix Full Story
Joe Wright is a good director. And I did like Hook, with Robin Williams. But this first look at Pan…an origin story… I have some concerns. One concern is Hugh Jackman’s hair. Can you see the wig line – glaringly – across the top of his head in several shots? These are the kinds of details that can become distracting. Full Story
South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp broke out with District 9 and then whiffed with last year’s Elysium, and now he’s back with Chappie, the story of a robotic artificial intelligence learning how to be a real boy, made for the “low” budget of $60 million and starring Dev Patel, South African rap duo Die Antwoord, a be-mulleted Hugh Jackman, and Sharlto Copley as Pinocchio Johnny 5 Ultron Chappie. Check out Hugh Jackman in New York yesterday taking his son Oscar to school. Oscar got real tall, real fast. Not sure when he celebrates his birthday but he was 13 years old in February. God. That's so fast. I feel like last year he was riding around on his father's shoulders. Hugh recently wrapped on Pan. Full Story
I’m on the road the next couple of days so I’m just catching up on the Tony Awards this morning. First on the agenda: How was Hugh Jackman?
Well he was great, obviously.
But, really, who actually doubted it? Hugh Jackman is… Reliable. Not exactly the sexiest word. It should be. Reliable should be a hot word. It’s hot when someone can be relied on to work harder than anyone else. It’s hot when someone can be relied upon to have that much energy, enthusiasm, and charm. It’s hot when that reliability shows up, over and over and over again, no matter what he’s doing – an interview for a local television station, a meet-and-greet with screaming fans, and hosting the awards show that honours Broadway.
You know who else is reliable?

X-Men: Days Of Future Past did big business at the box office this weekend. And while it was definitely a group effort, fully supported by nerds, I do feel like Hugh Jackman has been the face of this effort, the one who carried them all on his back, publicity-wise, and who deserves a lot of credit. Have you seen this yet? All credit to Hugh Jackman who just…he just…he makes everyone better. Like if you’re on a press tour with Hugh Jackman, or doing a three-way interview with him, you’re compelled to be as charming and as charismatic as he is. Because otherwise, you just end up looking like a sulky f-ck. Full Story
