Nine months after Chris Brown assaulted her, Rihanna is addressing the night she “went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears”. This is how she describes the “level of media chaos” that resulted from the incident, telling Glamour that "the positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn't heard."

Rihanna will elaborate on what happened with Diane Sawyer this week. ABC is slowly releasing details about the interview and the first quote from Rihanna is that “This happened to me...it can happen to anyone”. And, according to the network, she does indeed go into detail about the beating she received at the hands of the person she calls “my first big love”.

Rihanna is currently promoting a new album. It would have been impossible to promote the album without talking about what happened. Impossible. So she chose Diane Sawyer. Over Barbara Walters. As you’d expect, because television networks are hardly about tact, it’s being promoted as the television event of the month.

The interview airs Thursday and Friday on Good Morning America and then Friday night on 20/20. Which means Chris Brown, that little f-cker, will be keeping a very low profile this week. Because Diane Sawyer loves the drama. And hopefully she’ll call that piece of sh-t out on his lack of contrition. She might even put up that infamous photo of Rihanna’s face. And by the end of it we’ll all be crying. By the end of it, hopefully, young girls will stop buying tickets to his show, downloading his music, checking on his Twitter, dreaming about dating him. By the end of it, hopefully, People Magazine will stop defending him, and Chris Brown’s record company will be scrambling to find another release date.

This is Rihanna out and about in New York last night. Nice bag.
