I love, love, love the word ‘suck’. Not like ‘that sucks’, although I do frequently employ that terminology— but like, ‘you’re being a suck’. Remember when we were kids and someone was always being a sucky baby? Now when we talk about it, we use kids’ language and say someone is ‘taking their toys and going home’, but at least there’s a bit of flounce and drama to doing that. Full Story

It is not my preference to go after actors in the ongoing #OscarsSoWhite and the Hollywood diversity crisis. (Want to be depressed? Read this super sad and regressive study of diversity within industry ranks from the studio C-suites on down.) But actors are usually the most visible people connecting a film to the general public, so they inevitably get asked about this, especially if they themselves are caught up in a whitewashing casting controversy. Full Story
