A new trailer for Tom Hiddleston’s next film, High Rise, came out yesterday and it expands on the previous glimpse of Nearly Naked Sunbathing Tom Hiddleston with Nearly Naked Standing & Talking Tom Hiddleston. This is what I mean about this movie baiting the super enthusiastic internet fandom surrounding Hiddleston—how long am I going to have to spend on Tumblr before finding a GIF of Nearly Naked Tom Hiddleston? Point-two seconds? (Literally the first search result Full Story

I think Saint Tom the Huge Dork is gone for good

I’ve been missing Saint Tom the Huge Dork, as Tom Hiddleston has deliberately lowered his profile over the last couple years. Saint Tom the Huge Dork was born of the glory days when he was last promoting 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, and doing silly dances all over the place and generally being a huge dork. Full Story

Tom Hiddleston was in Pasadena on the weekend for the Winter TCA to promote The Night Manager. The series begins on AMC and the BBC in April. He looks really good in that leather jacket. Late last year, the tabloids reported that Tom and Elizabeth Olsen had broken up because…f-ck… I don’t know, it was a tabloid report and it wasn’t true anyway so do we need to go into why? Tom started shooting Kong: Skull Island in Hawaii in the fall. Full Story

Following a really cool teaser, there is now a full trailer for Tom Hiddleston’s movie High Rise, a future dystopia mind-f*ck from director Ben Wheatley. It’s more comprehensive look at the film, with the privileged world of the high rise and the weird sh*t happening inside, while still concealing what the hell is actually going on. Full Story

I missed Tom Hiddleston’s other film at TIFF, High Rise, but I remember hearing reactions from people who saw it and they were wildly divided. People either LOVED it, or HATED it, with very little in between, which is par for the course with director Ben Wheatley. Wheatley doesn’t make very accessible films, and J. Full Story

Tom Hiddleston (is wasted) in Crimson Peak

I didn’t like Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim as much as I wanted to, because no matter how cool it looks, the story is really dumb. And you can’t say “oh it’s just supposed to be fun” in an era where we’re seeing some really quality populist films, from Marvel and the Dark Knight trilogy, to the revival of Bond and Mission: Impossible, to movies like Inception and The Martian, that don’t draw a line between “popular” and “smart”. Full Story

Tom Hiddleston, along with Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska, have been promoting Crimson Peak, opening wide this weekend. You know what’s/who’s missing from that equation? Charlie Hunnam! Charlie’s been in Belfast shooting The Lost City Of Z. You know what this means though? It means he doesn’t have to do any promotion until Knights Of The Round Table next year. Full Story

This happened to me the last time I interviewed Tom Hiddleston for The Avengers. I don’t know how I forgot. That he’s SOOOOOOOO f-cking charming and thoughtful and smart and nice. Tom was my first interview yesterday, followed immediately by Elizabeth Olsen. As Sarah just noted in her review, I Saw The Light isn’t great. Full Story

TIFF Review: I Saw The Light

I had high hopes for the Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light, because Hank Williams’s life is inherently cinematic—gifted musician with a meteoric rise, tragic death, and a drama-ridden life in between—and also because Tom Hiddleston plays Williams. Hiddleston is a brilliant mimic and a good actor, a combination that makes him ideal for casting in biopics. Full Story

Entertainment Weekly has more first-look photos from movies coming out this fall, including the first official image of Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams in the biopic I Saw the Light. I emailed the photo to my dad, because this is probably the only movie this year we’ll be able to watch together Full Story

Crimson Peak: I want to go there

The first trailer for Guillermo Del Toro’s much anticipated Crimson Peak introduced us to the creepy setting and not much else, but now the international trailer has arrived and it lays out a little more of the story. Mia Wasikowska plays a Victorian lady author who is interested in ghosts and the occult, and Tom Hiddleston seems to be her editor? Publisher? Still not clear. Full Story
