Today in Paris at the Paris Saint-Germain F.C. vs Barcelona F.C. football match. Sitting together. Hanging together. Laughing together. Unfortunately no Posh. The last I saw Posh was back in London at her flagship which isn't even a week old. Maybe David's inviting Beyonce and JayZ to come check it out. Full Story

I like to pretend that my Gwyneth and I share a birthday, even though we were born a year and a day apart. Mine is September 26, hers is September 27. Whatever. We all fool ourselves in different ways. On Saturday, there was a party to celebrate. Many of G’s celebrity friends were there including Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy (an actress-rocker couple that’s still intact), Nicole Richie who came with Rashida Jones, Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer, Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson, and also… Chris Martin was seen arriving earlier in the day. Brange was not photographed at the Clooney wedding. Some are hoping they were there, just incognito. But you know what? It’s not like they hang out a lot. You see Clooney with Damon, Krasinski, Murray… Since Oceans, you don’t see him with Brad. Their friendship has been overblown… maybe because of wishful thinking. Full Story
George Clooney is getting married this weekend. Canals in Venice will be shut down. By Monday the city will start floating on Casamigos Tequila.
Here’s Matt Damon arriving with his wife Luciana. If Damon’s there, I can’t imagine John Krasinski and Emily Blunt not being there. I’ll post more photos as they become available through the day… if I don’t get distracted by my birthday.
Celebrating a birthday is always an excuse to take it easy. But celebrating your birthday on a Friday? It would be almost UNNATURAL to work too hard on a birthday Friday. But you still go to work. Always go to work on your birthday if it’s a weekday. Because then everyone has to be nice to you AND you get a free pass to f-ck around.
Have a great weekend!

One of the earliest rumours about the True Detective Season 2 casting was that Ellen Page and Kate Mara would replace Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. I was excited about that. I didn’t really care for Season 1 but if they’d set it up like that for Season 2, I was in. Didn’t happen. Full Story
Jake Gyllenhaal looked very handsome shooting a new film called Demolition at JFK airport in New York today. Jakey plays an investment banker so, I imagine, the wardrobe calls for no thick facial hair and really good clothes: a beautiful sweater, great pants, good shoes… Mostly though, I just like staring at his face. There are a lot of fans of Matt Damon out there. But Matt Damon doesn’t make himself available too often for pap shots…even though, ahem, he lives very close to the Afflecks. This is another conversation. Here’s Matt Damon out for dinner in Brentwood last night. They keep putting his name on the reported list of celebrity guests to George Clooney’s wedding. Full Story
London Fashion Week is happening right now. The centerpiece of LFW: Burberry, always Burberry. One of the most iconic London faces: Kate Moss, always Kate Moss. And the hottest model to come out of London the last few years: Cara Delevingne. Will Cara stay like Kate? I think so. Full Story

I interviewed Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones yesterday at the junket for The Theory Of Everything. As already mentioned, the film is SOOOOOOO good. And their performances are …well…everything. The key here is that the story is told from her perspective. So it’s not really a biopic but a film about partnership. Full Story
I covered The Theory Of Everything carpet last night for etalk. More on the film and Eddie Redmayne later, promise. Right now I just want to tell you about a really cute moment that happened at the premiere. We were second position on the press line. Which means that I was finished with my interviews early. Jonah Hill, 2X Oscar nominee and friend of Marty, Leo, and Brange, stepped out in LA the other day with a thick beard. Oh! Just like his spiritual big brother, Leonardo DiCaprio. Like Senior like Junior. What? It’s for a movie. Of course it’s for a movie. It’s always for a movie. Full Story

Gwyneth Paltrow was one of the producers of Stand Up To Cancer. The goal of SU2C was to raise over $100 million in support of cancer research. The event was simulcast around the world, even on competing conventional and cable networks and streamed on Yahoo! and Hulu without commercials and featured performances by Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco, Common, The Who, Dave Matthews, and Ariana Grande. Lainey texted me over the weekend about how she’s excited to see The Riot Club, a movie about secret societies at Oxford (it’s playing TIFF later this week). I’m into it for Natalie Dormer, but Lainey’s all over it because of the gaggle of British boys who star in it. While we agree on a few exceptions—Aaron Taylor-Johnson, for instance, though he’s hottest when he’s around Sam—Lainey likes boys and I like men. Full Story
