Baz Luhrmann and his Gatsby cast were in Sydney tonight at the gala premiere. Tobey Maguire was there, and Joel Edgerton, and of course Carey Mulligan dutifully promoted their film. The Great Gatsby opens this weekend. I’ll be in Vegas for work Friday to Sunday and have decided I’m going to see it alone on Saturday night and am more excited about this than I thought I’d be. Being by myself in Vegas watching Gatsby seems appropriate, in a super corny way. The reviews aren’t great though. Full Story

I don’t have very high expectations for Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby 3D. But that doesn’t mean I’m not seeing it. Please. I am totally seeing it. And I totally expect to be surprised. As in, oh sh-t, I was wrong, it was so good, so good I’m turning around for a second viewing. Full Story

Paramount confirmed yesterday that Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio will be released on November 15. In other words, they’re already expecting it to be an award season contender, as most of his films usually are. Especially in a 2 movie year.
