Amex’s Room For Thought – My Interviews
Over the last few months I’ve been telling you about American Express Canada’s Room For Thought initiative. The program called on talented, inspirational Canadians to submit their unique ideas with the hope that they’d be given opportunity to realize their potential and turn those ideas into reality. The ideas flowed in and you were called on to vote for the ideas that moved you. The winners were announced in early October, and since then Andrew, Lisa, and Evan have been working with their respective mentors Emily Haines, Marc and Craig Kielburger, and Les Stroud to move their ideas along. The Room For Thought, located in Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, was open to the public until November 22. I was there November 21 and had the opportunity to speak with Travel and Adventure mentor Les Stroud and his mentee Evan Malach, about Evan’s winning idea Second Chance Travel. Full Story
Amex Room For Thought – meet the winners!

The program called on talented, inspirational Canadians to submit their unique ideas with the hope that they’d be given opportunity to realize their potential and turn those ideas into reality. The ideas flowed in and you were called on to vote for the ideas that moved you. Today American Express Canada announced the winners of the public vote. Nearly 3,200 members of the public visited the American Express Canada Facebook page to cast their votes for their favourite ‘big idea’ in the fields of Music, Community and Travel & Adventure. The winners are:Music: Ghost II Andrew Huang, from Toronto, will be working with Emily Haines, lead singer of Metric to create an installation called Ghost II that will allow members of the public to interact with music through technology and a variety of instruments “Ghost II is an innovative and exciting idea that looks at music in a new way, and is something that has clearly captured the imaginations of voters. Room For Thought will be giving three talented, inspirational Canadians the opportunity to realize their potential and turn their ideas into reality. Do you have an idea, a vision, or a dream that you’d like to make happen but lack the resources or opportunity to set it into motion? We told you last week that American Express Canada is giving three talented, inspirational Canadians the opportunity to realize their potential and turn their ideas into reality. And you can be one of them! Visit the American Express Canada Facebook page between now and August 23rd to submit your idea in one of these areas of focus: community, travel and adventure, and music. Entries will be reviewed by American Express Canada and the Room for Thought mentors. A shortlist of nine ideas (three per category) will be put to a public vote via Facebook. Full Story
American Express makes ROOM FOR your THOUGHT
Do you have an idea, a vision, or a dream that you’d like to realize but lack the resources or opportunity to set it into motion? American Express Canada wants to give you a chance to make it happen and turn your ideas into reality. Through its Room for Thought program, American Express is asking you to submit your ideas at the American Express Canada Facebook page for a chance to have them be brought to life in a physical space in Toronto for three days to inspire, move, and pretty much throw down your amazingness. The focus is on community, travel and adventure and music, and entrants with the three best ideas (one per category) as chosen by the public will work with Marc and Craig Kielburger, Les Stroud, or Emily Haines to actually bring those idea to life.
