Justified Season 5, Episode 13 recap. SPOILERS We’ve come to the end of another season of Justified and the body count is high in Harlan County, even if, by some miracle, Raylan doesn’t actually add to his own tally. Not directly, anyway. Instead, he sets things in motion that end with Ava free from jail but living under his thumb and Wendy Crowe finally stepping up to the plate for Kendall. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 12 recap. Penultimate episode of the penultimate season. We’re into SPOILER territory. We’re almost at the end of the road, which means that a lot is happening and it’s happening fast. The Mexican cartel is gunning for Boyd, the Marshals have declared open season on Crowe, and Ava needs to get out of prison, like now. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 11 recap. Three episodes left. As always, it’s never enough when it comes to Justified. Why weren’t you where you needed to be? That’s the question Mrs. Mullen asks Raylan as he drives her to the hospital. It’s not a simple question and it doesn’t have a simple answer. Full Story

Justified 5.10: “I’m a Crowe”

Justified Season 5, Episode 10 recap It’s another super-sized episode! We’re getting so spoiled. This season might not have a villainous mastermind to take down, like Mags Bennett, or a central mystery to be solved, like the Drew Thompson case, but finally getting into the morass dredged up by all the terrible life choices everyone has been making throughout Justified is, I think, making for a rich and delightful season. Full Story

Justiified Season 5, Episode 9 recap. Dewey Crowe is going to snap. Hot Rod Dunham is dead. Daryl Crowe is burying his family alive. Kendall Crowe wants to get the hell out of Dodge. Wynn Duffy is running out of patience. Snakebite Jimmy is super loyal. Ava begins her career as jail drug queenpin. Full Story

Justified Season 5 Episode 8 recap Wendy Crowe has 99 problems and being a Crowe is all of them. It starts with sketchy “Uncle Jack” arriving—in a sweet Chevelle—at Kendall’s behest and ends with, well, actually Wendy pretty much gets her way in this one, but you can’t help but feel like the ruinous Crowe luck will catch up with her sooner rather than later. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 7 recap. We’re back after a week off for the Olympics, and during the break the guys at UPROXX put together this helpful refresher on which parts of the previous season are f*cking up Raylan’s sh*t right now (mostly the part where he practically arranged a mob hit). Full Story

Justified Season 5 Episode 6 recap No one’s plan is working out. The theme of this season is consequences as many long-running threads throughout Justified begin to come to a head, but all those consequences are arising because no one’s plan is working out. Not one thing can go right for anyone, best illustrated by Dewey Crowe not even being able to make a ransom demand right thanks to crap cell reception in the hills of Kentucky. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 5 recap. I had to watch this episode twice. A LOT happened. It’s episode five, which is usually when the various threads start coming together and we progress from the “table setting” portion of the season to the “sh*t hitting the fan” part. Full Story

Justified Season 5 Episode 4 recap. Four episodes in and a theme is emerging for Justified season five: Consequences. It started at the end of season four when Ava was arrested for Delroy’s murder and Raylan sanctioned Nicky Augustine’s murder, and now the consequences are just piling up for everyone. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 3 recap How are we already three episodes into Justified?! Now that we’re on such a finite schedule, it’s going too quickly. And things are moving quickly this season. It was like, episode five before season four really got into gear and the disparate threads started to come together and make sense as a larger narrative, but three episodes into season five and the connections and contentions are already becoming clear. Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 2 recap. A while back I heard that Justified was on a seven-season arc, and while I would happily have Justified forever, seven seasons seemed like a nice, healthy run. That’s 91 episodes, good by any measure. Well, you can knock 13 of those episodes off. Yesterday at the TCAs, FX chief John Landgraf confirmed Full Story

Justified Season 5, Episode 1 recap. Over the holidays my entire family came down with the flu, and I was the only healthy person in a house full of sickos. Quarantined for my own protection, I had six days and nothing to do, so I re-watched all four seasons of Justified, and my assessment from the end of season four stands: Mags Bennett is still the best antagonist Raylan Givens has faced, and it was the most cohesive and well-plotted of the seasons to date, but season four offered so much world-building and texture that it is the most fun season to re-watch. Full Story

Justified Season 4, Episode 13 recap. SPOILERS It’s the last Justified. As always, it’s too soon and never enough. This is my favorite season. Mags Bennett remains the best antagonist, but this season has been more fun than any other. It’s had furries, Dairy Queen, shoot outs, snakes chewing off people’s faces, dudes getting pushed out of planes, Constable Bob and his go bag, Clover Hill sex parties, hill people, severed foots and foot stabbings as two separate incidents, two different prison shankings, Limehouse, panty-stealing, two crooked FBI agents eating bullets, an unprecedented amount of that punk-ass bitch Tim Gutterson Full Story
