Justified 3.13: “A man in a hat pointing a gun at Boyd”
Justified Season 3 Episode 13.All right, here we go with the final Justified of season three. Time to see who lives and dies. I think Quarles and Dickie Bennett are going to eat it, but Limehouse will survive—probably not Errol, though—and so will Wynn Duffy because he’s a cockroach and will outlive them all. Full Story
Justified 3.12: “Do I strike you in any way as a Van Halen fan?”
The penultimate episode of Justified season 3. Sh*t’s getting real now. This involves a naked, chained-up Quarles popping Oxy with the hookers Boyd left to keep an eye on him. Because that can’t possibly backfire. Meanwhile, Boyd is planning how he’ll divvy up the Bennett money with his crew. Counting chickens, Boyd, counting chickens. Full Story
Justified 3.11: “There’s gonna be another time”
Looking back to Wynn Duffy’s first appearance in season 1, he seemed like such a tool. And now he’s developed into a steely criminal…well not mastermind; he’s too clearly a second in command to be the mastermind, but yet he seems like the only one who might survive the inevitable sh*t storm descending on Harlan. Full Story
Justified 3.10: “We are not your savages”
Some deputies are trying to plant drugs in Shelby’s truck but he busts them and runs them off. He says he’s got only a couple years to live and wants to accomplish something before he dies, thus running for sheriff. Total crock of sh*t of course. In the world of Justified, everyone lies. Johnny Crowder suggests “putting the fear of God” into the sheriff’s sister in revenge. Full Story
Justified 3.9: “There was just nothing she could do for him"
Raylan’s living situation is always so depressing. I know it’s meant to be a statement about his solitary, no-frills character, but his series of sad motel rooms is bumming me out. He hides the gun that shot Gary in his A/C.So that guy Quarles killed was not the owner of the house he was squatting in, but a rentboy named Brady. Full Story
Justified 3.8: “I told him the next one would be coming faster”
Justified Season 3 Episode 8 recapWe’re entering the home stretch on season 3. The situation in Harlan is heating up, beginning with Quarles’ gambit to make the FBI think Raylan is dirty. I’ll roll with this plot point but I must point out that in season 1, it was repeatedly stated that Raylan gunning down that dude in Miami made the national news. Full Story
Justified 3.7: “If I was going to kill you, you never would’ve turned around”
Justified Season 3 Episode 7 recapArlo is once again ranting about women. He is also calling out Limehouse in the middle of the night. He appears to have lost his mind. The dude who escaped the Oxy clinic/trailer in the previous episode is hiding out in Limehouse’s holler. Limehouse coerces the dude to inform on Quarles. Full Story
Justified 3.5: “He said things might get weird”
Justified Season 3 Episode 5 recapAfter Rick Grimes threw down in the bar on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, a friend and I discussed who would win in a fight: Officer Rick or Raylan Givens. Conclusion: In a straight-up brawl, Raylan, but if he feels cornered, Rick. Or, as my friend put it: Raylan, but if Rick managed to beat him it wouldn’t be surprising. Full Story
Justified 3.4: “No matter how weird things might get”
Justified Season 3 Episode 4 recapWe begin with Devil meeting with Quarles, who offers Devil a job. The title of this scene is “Devil signs his death warrant”. And I am just now realizing that Quarles is also the guy in the bowler hat from Captain America, which is going to affect how I watch that movie from now on. Full Story
Justified 3.3: “These boots ain’t made for running”
Justified Season 3 Episode 3 recap Last week Carla Gugino appeared as Deputy Director Goodall, and some people were like, “Hey, why didn’t you mention that Karen Sisco was on Justified?!” Well, it’s because, due to a legal matter about who owns what Elmore Leonard property, they couldn’t call her “Karen Sisco”, thus the “Goodall is my married name” moment. Justified Season 3 Episode 2 recapIn last week’s episode I counted Raylan’s shooting of Nix—the black hat—as a kill. However, several readers threw some shade on that and suggested Nix wasn’t actually dead. Since his fate was inconclusive, I’m down-grading his shooting to a half a kill, since at the very least Raylan dealt him a mortal wound. Full Story
