With all the sh-t we’ve been throwing at Rooney Mara for her excessive “aloof”-ness, how much do you LOVE this photo of her aloofing (by photo assumption) Meryl Streep yesterday at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon? True story - I had people over the other night for the Super Bowl. My friend Fiona was cheering for the Giants because she likes the Mannings. Full Story

And I’m not down with that. Last week we talked about Blake Lively’s involvement in Steven Soderbergh’s new movie and how her casting as the lead caused a producer, the one with the money, to walk off the project. Click here for a refresher. The other producers then came out and said that Lively did not have the job in the bag after all and now today it’s being reported that the role went, in fact, to Rooney Mara. Full Story

Jessica Chastain is not Aloof

As I mentioned the other day, I’ve recently developed a (late) addiction to Veronica Mars. It’s amazing how many faces have passed through Veronica Mars. Jessica Chastain passed through Veronica Mars, did you know that? It was one episode, she played a victim and, in what’s promising to be a great career, it wasn’t very memorable. Full Story

First, I think we need stop saying that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is some kind of big disappointment. Did it fail to dominate the holiday movie season? Yes. Is going to pass the hundred-million mark at the box office? Yes. Let’s call it even. After a lackluster opening, Dragon Tattoo has been a surprisingly steady performer for Sony, which is likely why they’re going ahead with the sequels, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest (the second option being sheer stubbornness). Full Story

I was quick to jump on the US Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie bandwagon after the first trailers were released. I was ready to love it. To be super impressed. To fangirl over a version that I initially labelled unnecessary. Then I saw it. Dragon Tattoo Girl For America is a solid B+. It’s good. It’s watchable. Full Story

Managing “Aloof” behind the scenes

I could never be a publicist or a personal assistant for a celebrity. It’s not the hard work I’m afraid of; it’s the adult babysitting. They are SO fragile and insecure and narcissistic, it’s an exhausting experience. And, frankly, it can be really, really sad. I’ve been really hard on Rooney Mara the last couple of weeks for the “aloof”-ing and the SVU trashing. Full Story

Aloof backpedalling

The “aloof” one, Rooney Mara, is backpedalling on comments she made in Allure about her early work on Law & Order: SVU. Not surprisingly, Rooney says her words were taken out of context. And, of course, insists that SVU is the greatest and that her experience on it was the greatest. Also, she’s a victim. Full Story

Click here if you missed yesterday’s article about why the self-described “aloof” Rooney Mara is so f-cking annoying. You know what that says about a person? The person who calls herself “aloof”? The person who calls herself “aloof” spends a lot of time contemplating her own perceived “aloofness”. Full Story

I read a quote from Rooney Mara today on Celebitchy from her interview with Allure and I thought to myself - you cannot possibly be this annoying already. So I went the Allure article to see for myself and, indeed, she really is that annoying already. Full Story

Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig premiered The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in London tonight, beginning their carpet tour towards the film’s opening on December 21. Reviews for the film are embargoed until tomorrow. But last week there was a big ass drama over the release of The New Yorker’s - a positive one - a full week before the date, which was agreed upon with the studio before the screening. Full Story

Rooney Mara, who is the US Lisbeth Salander, and Mia Wasikowska, who could have been the US Lisbeth Salander, were both at the CFDA Awards last night. Which reminds me of this article I posted last week about Rooney saying she didn’t think the other girls who were rumoured for the part were exactly right for the part either and my corresponding paragraph about that strange Hollywood reality:There it is. Full Story

Daniel Craig was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly in the summer for Cowboys & Aliens and his pants action was piss poor. Click here for a refresher. This time it’s for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. MUCH better. As we build towards the film’s release, we are now getting more and more access to its centrepiece Lisbeth Salander played by Rooney Mara. Full Story
