Back to school is a special time for parents. I do not need to explain this I’m sure. Or the Huxtables can explain it better. Remember when Cliff and Claire could not WAIT to get the kids out of the house? I won’t lie, I was one of those keeners who loved going back to school. Only because I was always really excited about my new back to school clothes wardrobe. I’d hoard my new gear all summer long just to debut it the first week of school which, actually, is kinda what I still do now. There are items I’ve purchased months ago that have still not been worn because I’m waiting for the opportunity. Like back to school. These days, “back to school” for me is TIFF. Back then, back to school involved my mother picking out my clothes but she couldn’t understand why I wanted to wear ripped jeans. Full Story

I don’t have a Facebook page. I find it a huge time sucker, but I realize I’m now part of the great minority that does not “like” lots. I AM a phone geek though. Smartphones. Regularly tweet pictures of my dogs chewing my shoes, ripping apart my books, and looking pretty sorry about it afterwards. To be fair to Marcus, it’s just Barney who terrorises the house at this stage. Marcus’s contribution to my life right now is that he smells. Awful. I think it’s his ears. Our site is pretty photo-centric and for that reason photos are a big part of our lives. And so are the photos we take at home. More so recently because, as many of you know, we added Barney to the family at the beginning of the year. Barney is now 6 months old and has probably been snapped about 600 times. Many of you can relate. Certainly those of you who’ve brought home a puppy or who’ve had a baby. The thing about digital photos, though, is that it’s really convenient to take several, upload to your computer, and then have them sit there locked away in a folder until for some reason – Twitter? – you decide to browse through them. Love and Other Drugs hits store shelves tomorrow (March 1st), perfect time to ride the momentum Anne Hathaway is building off her Oscar performance. As I noted when I originally saw it, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. In the movie and during the awards. In fact, I couldn’t take my eyes off either of them. Annie and Jakey. Specifically as it relates to Anne though, she really does have a natural way about her, and, well, that also means there’s a very healthy amount of good acting involved. She’s one who’s capable of delivering some really great performances into her 30s. I’m excited. As for Jakey… well… when his voice cracks there in the “moment”, I don’t know, it totally worked on me.
