Intro for October 30, 2013
Kanye West is mad again. And when something is picking Kanye’s ass, it’s always a good day. This is Kanye’s new cause of the day:
Kanye West thinks Kanye West’s girlfriend should be on the cover of VOGUE. Anna Wintour isn’t feeling that. If she’s not feeling Victoria Beckham, you can imagine how she feels about Kanye West’s girlfriend. And Kanye thinks this is an injustice.
“There’s no way (Kanye West’s girlfriend) shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday,” West told Ryan Seacrest on the radio yesterday.
Kanye’s rationale for having his girlfriend on the cover of VOGUE is because last week she posted a picture of her ass in a bikini on Instagram:
“And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.”
For Kanye, Anna Wintour’s rejection of his girlfriend from the cover of her magazine is a class issue. In his mind, society treats reality show stars as second class or third class citizens in the celebrity ecosystem. He is calling for an overhaul of the celebrity hierarchy. He is fighting for the right of the reality show star to be given the same respect as the Movie Star.
“[Former French Vogue editor] Carine Roitfeld supports my girl. That’s a breakthrough. There’s a wall of classism that we are breaking through.”
All the inequality in the world…and this is the fight that Kanye is fighting. You hear that Russell Brand? F-ck your redistribution of wealth formula, because Kanye West’s girlfriend has a net worth of at least $40 million and she can’t be on the cover of VOGUE – and THAT’s the cause you should be getting behind!
