I am in a rage this morning. There is nothing more infuriating than waking up in a hotel room at 5am to sh-tty internet. Oh no, wait. I know what’s more infuriating. What’s more infuriating is calling the front desk and being told that, yeah, it’s normal, our internet service goes up and down all the time in the same tone of voice you might say good morning to someone. Full Story

There’s a marketing misstep if ever I saw one. Summer 2012 is stacked with high-profile franchise releases including The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, and one of the more mysterious entries, Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. Set in the same universe as Scott’s classic Alien, it’s a prequel but not really—the events take place before those of Alien, but the story isn’t directly related. Full Story

She was in LA for meetings and so many people wanted a piece and she’s working with the same publicist who took Marion Cotillard to an Oscar and they say there’s an outside shot there could be a nomination in Noomi’s future too. Full Story

It’s Rooney Mara, the girl who beat everyone to become The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. In Stockholm yesterday preparing for the role. She’s supposed to speak with a Swedish accent. So I guess she’s starting to practise. I can see it a little, I guess, in her face – that wounded animal expression about her, a reticence in her eyes, the look of a forever child. Full Story

I don’t read much in the mystery/thriller genre. But Fiona, one of my best friends, is all over it. And she was really into Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy a couple of years ago. Then our other friend Heidi, who was pregnant at the time, read the first one, and just days before giving birth, became so obsessed that she hunted down Fiona for a copy of the second. Full Story
