Zara Phillips competed in cross-country equestrian today at the Olympics. She had her very own Royal Cheering Section and she finished under the limit in front of her family fans which included Prince William and his Catherine, Prince Harry, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, and Camilla too. Prince William and his Catherine, along with Prince Harry, visited with young athletes at Bacon’s College in London today to launch a partnership between their Foundation and Greenhouse. Prince William was made Knight of the Thistle in Edinburgh. In Scotland then, he and his Catherine will be known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn. She had a plaid scarf with her to mark the occasion. The Queen and Prince Philip were also there, along with Princess Anne, except today they keep calling her the Princess Royal which, obviously, is her proper style except it’s a mystery to cultural pigs like me why they seemingly arbitrarily use one and not the other and vice versa and when. Full Story

I didn’t actually put it together until this week that Prince William’s birthday is on the Summer Solstice.
