Here are pictures of Cecily Strong in Capitol File magazine, in advance of her hosting the White House Correspondent’s dinner next month. She looks great and talks about how she’s most looking forward to meeting the Obamas, which sounds normal and exciting and good for her. But it seems like Cold Comfort Farm, a little bit. Full Story
Brad Pitt was at LAX on Saturday. Some say he was heading to France to check in on their property and the wine. Brange has been quiet lately, on the Hollywood front at least. She’s likely in post for By The Sea and he has yet to confirm his next acting role, although it’s been revealed that he’ll be producing a Lewis and Clark series for HBO with Edward Norton and Tom Hanks. The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 12 recap. Hey remember when Rick was hot? This episode wanted to remind us that Rick is hot. We go inside Alexandria’s walls, where everyone gets to shower, and Rick shaves his mountain man beard. Alexandria—or rather, this one neighborhood that is all that’s left of Alexandria—seems too good to be true. Full Story
Girls Season 4 Episode 7 recap Obviously they matter. Of course people need to know what other’s names are, of course you want to know their reactions to them. Hannah dates a guy named Fran. But I digress. Fran is completely endearing, isn’t he? I have absolutely no idea why his name is Fran, but he keeps the amusing and charming thing going. Full Story

One week after winning Oscar, Julianne Moore showed up at the Canadian Screen Awards last night in Toronto. She was nominated for her role in David Cronenberg’s Maps To The Stars. And lost to Anne Dorval for her performance in Xavier Dolan’s Mommy.
Still, Julianne – who was staffed by Stephen Huvane – worked the entire press line, stopping for almost every media outlet, because, as she told the Toronto Star:
“I love Toronto. I’ve been coming to Toronto to work since 1986, a really long time, so I feel I’m practically Canadian.”
Love that. Love her.
More on the CSAs later.

Julianne Moore won an Oscar for her performance in Still Alice. In all the talk about Still Alice, apart from Moore’s name, who else did you hear mentioned? Kristen Stewart, for sure. But, um, not really Kate Bosworth, right? I totally forgot she was in the film. And I’ve SEEN the film. Full Story

Blade Runner is a classic. Arguably, it’s a masterpiece. But it’s from 1982, which means it must be revisited/reimagined for a contemporary audience because pop culture is a ravenous beast that survives on nostalgia and memes. Rumors of a potential Blade Runner sequel have been swirling for the last few years, and yesterday it was confirmed—Blade Runner 2 is happening and Harrison Ford will return to star as Deckard, one of the most mysterious protagonists in cinema. At First Sight, the romantic drama starring Val Kilmer and Mira Sorvino, is one of the most hilariously terrible movies I’ve ever seen. In that movie, Kilmer’s character is blind and he falls in love with Sorvino, but when he regains his sight their relationship falls apart because he needs to re-learn everything as a sighted person and Sorvino’s character is an asshole.
