At the box office and on television, the young man quiveration factor came from the UK…

Am aware James McAvoy is Scottish. But I liked the title…forgive me please? He’s from Scotland! He’s Scottish!

And this summer, for a couple of weeks, his Wanted launched him up several notches – a star who can do the small, arty films as well as carry an action movie. Well done.

But he is not alone. As an unabashed Anglophile, this year there was much to celebrate.

In fact, James, Ben Barnes, Jim Sturgess, and Robert Pattinson all hit #1s this year with Wanted, Prince Caspian, 21, and Twilight respectively…

As for Ed Westwick. Well…he’s Chuck Bass.

Impressive, non?

It’s the new invasion. All of them head and shoulders and HAIR above LipGloss Zac Efron. These are the fellows he’s competing with now. As if he ever had a chance.

Ps. Um…hello Vanity Fair? Hello Entertainment Weekly? Why hasn’t this made a feature cover yet? These five boys owning Hollywood? Get on it.
