I’d almost rather choke than be complimentary to Carrie Underwood but right now she really deserves it.

Country Bitch was interviewed by The Independent in the UK recently and was very clear about where she stands on gay rights:

"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry. I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.

Our church is gay friendly. Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody.

(I don’t agree with) people who use the Bible for hate. That's not how I would want myself as a Christian to be represented."

Here’s an artist with a largely conservative fanbase emphatically declaring her position on what many consider to be the opposing side. Doing it closer to home now is the next step. The story is just starting to make its way across North American headlines. Fox News, for example, at press time (9:30am PT Tuesday June 12, 2012) has yet to run with it. If they start tearing her down I might have to iTunes all her albums. What is happening???

Here’s Carrie this weekend at a charity baseball game. You see how cute she is when she doesn’t dress up? When her hair’s not curled, when she isn’t wearing Georges Chakra, when she isn’t showering in sequins and eye-shadow...

Super, super, SUPER cute.
