Shailene Woodley starts the clock on Emma Stone

I liked The Amazing Spider-Man well enough. Mostly, I liked how great Andrew Garfield was as Peter Parker, but it wasn’t a bad movie. The biggest issue was that it didn’t do enough to separate itself from the Sam Raimi treatment of just a few years ago. Full Story
Emma in Paris and the sequel
Emma Stone arrived in Paris yesterday and hit up Miu Miu with a friend. The Miu Miu show is tomorrow. While Emma was photographed landing in France, Andrew Garfield was shot at LAX. They were together in New York just last Friday when Sony confirmed that there will indeed be a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, setting up for what will eventually be a trilogy. Full Story
At least they can spell

Scarlett Johansson did this once, remember? She put a sign up over her face about how she was being “harrassed” (sic) by the paps. Click here to see those photos. Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have modified that move by not complaining about the pictures but using the opportunity to promote their favourite charities. Full Story
Emma & Andrew did not bomb
The Amazing Spider-Man is doing very well. Click here if you missed Sarah’s review of the movie the other day. She has declared him the best Spider-Man ever. That, in combination with the film’s strong box office, means Garfield and his real-life girlfriend Emma Stone, have not bombed together, at least not professionally. Full Story
Spider-Man finally gets some traction
Or so the numbers people say. Two weeks out from The Amazing Spider-Man’s opening, and the trades are reporting that it’s tracking for a $120+ million holiday opening—it’ll span the long July 4 weekend in the US—showing strong interest from men and boys and decent awareness from younger girls, but not so much the 25 and over female crowd. Let’s first group hug over how cute these two are. Attached - Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield hand in hand at LAX yesterday presumably heading back to New York for the Tony Awards this weekend where he’s been nominated for his work in Death Of A Salesman. He is considered to be the favourite. Full Story
Spiderman’s German frontrum
I don’t really know what this video is except horrifying.I have a motto—start exclusive, stay exclusive. This is my media/marketing approach. I’m a boutique person; I’d rather serve a smaller, more rarified clientele than be a big smashing hit with the masses. In marketing terms, it’s called courting the alpha consumer. Full Story
Please care about Spider-Man
That’s what all these ads should say. “Please care about us”, and, “Hey we made a superhero movie, too!”Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man, the middle child of the summer superhero titles, is going full-tilt trying to build up interest in the movie that no one particularly wanted. Full Story
Best Met Red: Emma Stone

As noted many times, I’m no fan of the red dress. The problem with the red dress on a red carpet is that it bleeds into the carpet. And also every time a designer sends a red dress down a runway it’s always made for the vixen, mega vavavoom. But what if red could be cute, girlish, and sweet? These are not the attributes usually associated with the colour. Full Story
Peter Parker, middle child

I’ve been worried for The Amazing Spider-Man for several months now. Ever since I heard the marketing was being held up in order to recalibrate the approach in the face of underwhelming reaction to the first trailer and marketing push late last year, I’ve wondered if Spider-Man doesn’t suffer from middle child syndrome. Emma, Andrew, and a new trailer

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, along with other members of The Amazing Spider-Man team, including that prick Rhys Ifans, were in Mexico yesterday promoting the movie at the Summer of Sony event. I love her blouse and that tricked out collar. I LOVE it. I also love that they’re not super precious about their relationship and who sees them holding and hands and not hiding about it or ducking under parked cars. Full Story
Girl Sh-t & Factions

I was happy to see Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield walking their first red carpet together on Saturday at the Kids’ Choice Awards. The two subsequently presented together as promotion for their upcoming Spider-Man. I was even happier to see Shannon Woodward show up with Katy Perry. Interestingly enough, Andrew used to date Shannon Woodward. Full Story
Who is good enough for Nora Charles?
I am fond of old romantic movies, which may be surprising, since my heart is made of roofing tar and ashes. But I do love them, I really do. To Have and Have Not, Love in the Afternoon, Roman Holiday, To Catch a Thief, Bringing up Baby, His Girl Friday, and my all-time favorite, The Thin Man. When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be Nora Charles, the smart, sarcastic heroine played by Myrna Loy. Full Story
