Today was the annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon. Notably absent: George Clooney. It’s a non-campaign year for Clooney. Looks like he’s conceding early to Jeff Bridges. But enough of the boys. The Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue features skinny white girls on the front and actor/director portraits inside, all of them by Annie Leibovitz and much more interesting than the banality on the cover. Not to say that individually, those girls are delightful, but again, the lack of diversity was troubling, a reflection of that industry and also our own tastes. Full Story
There were a few of them last night at the Hollywood Film Festival awards gala last night. Let’s start with Jeremy Renner. Because I’ve been remiss in not giving The Hurt Locker enough love.
