Here’s an early Wednesday bonus – new photos of Idris Elba. I need this. Because the week, it’s just draggggging.

Idris was in London last night at the premiere screening and Q&A for his documentary Mandela, My Dad, and Me. During the session, he was asked about becoming Bond, all this talk that he might be the next 007. Turns out we all might have ruined it for him:

"Honestly, it’s a rumor that’s really starting to eat itself," the 42-year-old star of Luther and The Wire told the audience at London's British Film Institute on Tuesday. "If there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it’s gone." Elba also confirmed that talks with Bond producers have "never happened," and blamed the man currently brandishing the license to kill for sparking the gossip. "Daniel Craig actually set the rumor off. About four years ago he said Idris Elba would be a great Bond and then it started to creep," he said. "I blame Daniel." (Source)

It’s true. That’s how the internet sucks. When we hype the sh-t out of something and kill its chances by making it too obvious.

In other Idris news, he also said that he no longer has a record deal as his label dropped him for not being commercial enough. Although he didn’t sound bitter about that he then revealed that he’s working on new music, writing songs inspired by Luther. This is something I will happily not hype on the internet. If it turns out awesome? Great. If it turns out like this, well then we don’t have to remember.
