Can you imagine how excited Marc Jacobs must have been to dress Cher for the MET Gala? Cher, as we all know, is usually associated with one designer: Bob Mackie. Mackie is apparently too busy to design her costumes for her new tour, appropriately titled Dressed To Kill. She was broken up about it a couple of months ago. Full Story

As we get closer to the MET Gala on Monday, I have a question for you. You remember what happened at the MET Gala last year, right?
It was The Elevator.
The Elevator was probably THE biggest gossip story of 2014. So far, Beyonce and JayZ do not appear on any leaked attendees lists for the MET Gala. What’s your prediction then? Do Beyonce and JayZ return to the MET Gala? Or do they skip it for a year, put some distance between themselves and the scandal. Because if they show up, everyone’s going to bring it up.
Or maybe they DO come. Defiantly. On several counts. Because Jay’s been playing defence on the Tidal situation lately too. Maybe they even come WITH Solange. Like, you can’t touch us, you can’t bring us down. Can you see it? I can't decide. Read Full Intro

There were two sides to Beyonce’s shoe game yesterday, as Tidal continued to make headlines across conventional and social media. In the afternoon she left an office building in stripes. Look at that blue travesty on her feet. Here’s an example of how only Rihanna can pull sh-t off. Full Story
As Maria noted in her Tidal post, Taylor Swift was probably THE biggest name not present and accounted for at the Tidal kickoff yesterday. I say THE biggest name because, love her or hate her, you cannot deny Taylor’s chart influence, not only with the latest album 1989 but her previous ones too. Full Story

Yesterday was the launch of a new Jay Z-backed music streaming service, Tidal. It started with a social media takeover (which I’ll get to) and then a press conference. An awkward as hell press conference; I got the sweats watching it. Why was the crowd hollering, who did they invite to this thing? Was it fans, or media? The audible dip in applause between Kanye and Deadmau5 was painful. Full Story
Tidal – the Jay Z-backed music streaming service, launches today at 5 p.m. EST with a Carter press conference in New York. The social media takeover is in full swing, with a bright blue avatar popping up all over Instagram and Twitter. And there’s even a musical Justice League video Alicia Keys first posted (it’s spreading fast) – I counted Bey and Kanye (obviously), Chris Martin, Jason Aldean, Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Jack White, with Usher, Alicia, Regine Chassagne and Win Butler (I think?) on webcam. If it was a long weekend for you as it was for me (Family Day in parts of Canada/Presidents Day in the US), I hope you’re rested. Because, finally, it’s Oscar Week!
Chinese New Year on Thursday!
We have a few more signs to get through before then. And since we missed yesterday, we’re doubling up today on the Monkey and the Rooster.
For those born in the Year of the Monkey, “STEADY” is your word during the Goat/Sheep. Keep everything level. No risks. No major decisions. For example, this might not be the best time to buy a house. Everything requires careful consideration this year because you’re getting ready for next year, the Year of the Monkey. So, instead of being aggressive, you’re conserving all of it – your money, your energy. Read Full Intro

But the most stylish person at the event? Rihanna. Always Rihanna. Close second: the ridiculously beautiful Alexander Wang. Full Story

Did you see the Carters kiss when Beyonce won her Grammy? Duana texted me about 15 seconds later: “I just rewound that kiss three times. Did not buy. Am Conspiracy Theorist?” My reply: “Well they’ve never been known for their sexual chemistry.” Duana: “Isn’t that the whole point of the album?” Me: “She’s hot for herself. Full Story

I needed an exclamation point on that title. Don’t pretend that that title isn’t an exclamation point for you too.
