Jennifer Love Hewitt hates fat
Attention starved Jennifer Love Hewitt was snapped at the beach in Hawaii last week generating the most headlines she’s had, probably ever, for the size of her ass.
UK tabloids and many North American blogs noted her fuller figure and compared it to days past, when young “Love” peaked on Party of Five, and way back when John Mayer supposedly composed “Your Body is a Wonderland” in her honour.
As you can see from the bikini photos, JLH’s physique is lovely, normal, and average and indeed she was mean spiritedly and unfairly ridiculed for not looking like Keira Knightley. Her response to the matter however was equally deplorable, perhaps even more so, because instead of taking the opportunity to address the warped weight issues terrorising showbiz, and consequently many of our young ladies, she pissed all over it in the process, all while waiving the weight flag and stupidly positioning herself as the poster girl for Normal Bodied Girls.
How stupid do you have to be not to see through her amateur bullsh*t? Why hasn’t she hired Jessica Biel’s publicist? Here’s what Love wrote on her website in defence of her body:
"This is the last time I will address this subject. I"ve sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women"s bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I"m not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image. A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn"t make you beautiful.
What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles. I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body. To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini - put it on and stay strong.”
Can we just state the obvious here? You look at that ass. It’s a nice ass. A beautiful ass. But it is NOT a size 2 ass. And as unflattering as these shots may be, they are also not fake. Compare to these images from October – JLH in purple at some event. The clothed purple body corresponds to the bikini body…she is a curvy woman.
I’ve interviewed her. Her body is fantastic. But she is not a Size 2. Trust.
So why is she passing herself off as one? When bigger sizes are totally ok, why isn’t she owning her real size?
Did you need to be told that a Size 2 is not fat? Of course not. YOU ALREADY KNOW that a Size 2 is not fat. What you need to know is that a Size 6 or a Size 8 is not fat.
And if she had to make any statement, any statement worth making, it would have been that a Size 6 or 8 or 10 is not fat…instead of slipping in a Size 2 comment and laughably suggesting that that is what she is.
It’s vain, it’s disingenuous, and it’s even more damaging than before. Don’t for a second think that this message was about Girl Power and rah rah rah solidarity for the juicy booties.
That message was all about her. Period.
