Keira in a comedy, Keira in love
I’ve been catching up on my Daily Shows since getting back from Cannes. Finally had the chance to watch Keira Knightley from May 9th. She was promoting Last Night. Jacek and I viewed this particular episode together. And half way through her interview, he decided that he was into her. That he liked her. He just felt her vibe. She was chill and fun and nice and smart and not awkward or weird and he appreciated too that she looks pretty healthy now. This is definitely not the dour, gaunt girl we’ve been accustomed to. And this is a Keira too who is not shooting a melodramatic period piece for a change but who is working on a comedy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World with Steve Carell. Good move. Keira lost out to Anne Hathaway for Catwoman. I’m not sure that would have happened in 2008. She’s given up a little ground. It’s time to shake things up, it’s time to remind them she’s still around.
Check out Keira on the set of her comedy in Malibu yesterday, hitting up craft services with her new boyfriend James Righton before heading into her trailer. He’s a musician. Must be serious if he’s come all the way to California to see her. James had previously been with his band in Europe and doesn’t need to be back for a week or so. In all the pictures I’ve ever seen of them together she seems really, really happy. Remember what I always used to say about her coming out of that early 20s “I like black and will only read Camus” phase? She’s 26 now. It was right on schedule.
