Mark Ruffalo Gossip
Mark Ruffalo gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
We must be approaching award season because the fall festivals have announced their lineups, led by TIFF, and now we’re starting to get trailers for the Oscar baity movies we’ll be watching in the fall. There’s a lot of good-looking stuff coming up, but the one film I’m most looking forward to—and have been since it was first announced—is Tom McCarthy’s Spotlight, about the Boston Globe breaking the story of the Catholic priest sex abuse scandal. On Monday, Joss Whedon quit Twitter. I assumed it was because with Avengers: Age of Ultron open in all the theaters everywhere, he was finally done promoting it and so he deleted his Twitter page, which was started two years ago to promote a movie. I didn’t think much of it at first, but by the end of the day the internet was going nuts, saying that Whedon didn’t quit, he was run out of electrical town on rails by a horde of rage-feminists who were mad at him for something about the Black Widow. All the Avengers showed up tonight at the UK premiere. They’ve been dividing press duties by territory but this market required full superhero participation. Full participation means Tony Stark has to show up. So here he is, Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr… How do you feel about his lighter hair? I like it. Full Story

Sarah mentioned in the previous article about Chris Evans that he was supposedly, um, pretty peppy at the premiere last night. I just watched all of them playing Family Feud on Kimmel before they hit the carpet and, with the exception of RDJ, I think all of them were lit. Now normally I’d say over 8 minutes is way, way too long. Full Story
As Lainey mentioned in the open today, Coachella, or as the cool kids call it, “Chella,” is on hiatus until next week. Last week I said Kate Bosworth was the patron saint of the desert, so what does that make Aaron Paul and his wife, Lauren? The first couple of Coachella? I mean he’s just so enthusiastic about it. That’s my takeaway from the new extended TV spot for Avengers: Age of Ultron—they must be playing baseball. This spot features a lot of new footage, including Thor swinging for the fences using his hammer as the bat and Captain America’s shield as the ball. Easily the two coolest moments are when Thor grand-slams Cap’s shield and when Cap chucks his motorcycle into an oncoming truckload of bad guys. Full Story

Some actors just go about their thing, they’re good at their thing, but it’s not flashy, and everyone likes them, so much, but Out There, beyond the People Who Know, nobody notices. Until much later. I feel like that’s what’s happened to Michael Keaton. And it gives me great comfort to believe that that’s what might happen for Mark Ruffalo. Full Story

A new, slightly extended Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer has hit and it includes a bit more action but also, more from James Spader’s Ultron. God, Spader has the best voice for this. Ultron has some great monologues and I can’t wait to hear Spader go to town on them. The patronizing way he says “I know you mean well” kills me. Full Story
Last summer Now You See Me, the movie about bank-robbing magicians, trucked to over $117 million at the domestic box office, qualifying it as a sleeper hit. Accordingly, it’s getting a sequel, because movies can no longer stand alone. If it makes even the least little bit of money, it’s going to get sequelized (see also: Hansel & Gretel 2: Hahahaha). Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr were honoured last night at the Britannia Awards in LA. Mark was presented with the Humanitarian Award for his work in advocating for clean water. Because, yes, he’s the best. Always. Even Dame Judi Dench thinks so. RDJ received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia For Excellence In Film. Full Story
Rachel McAdams and Mark Ruffalo. They’re shooting a new movie called Spotlight. It’s about The Boston Globe’s coverage of all that sick sh-t those Catholic priests were doing to those kids. Yesterday they were all at Fenway – in my mind the most gorgeous ballpark in the world – shooting scenes with Roger Sterling. Full Story

Nobody's saying Channing Tatum can't pull his weight. But with Foxcatcher, in walks a real contender: an all-around movie star and actor. Tatum plays Olympic Gold Medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz, who walks into a room, shoulders first, with his jaw always clenched. Naive and living a mostly solitary life, he trains with his brother, a fellow celebrated wrestler, Dave (Mark Ruffalo), then comes home to a bowl of Ramen. Full Story
Sasha was working in the etalk TIFF lounge yesterday and taunted me with some Mark Ruffalo. He came in for an interview.
Her text: Mark Ruffalo kissed me.
I’m telling you. I have to keep telling you. Everybody loves Mark Ruffalo. A friend of mine spent almost an hour talking to him this weekend at a party and he was the nicest and sweetest and super fun and that’s all it was – noooooo hint of more, not a sniff of anything pervy. Read Full Intro
