It’s the 20th anniversary of the movie this year. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon are supposed to be doing some kind of Vanity Fair cover to celebrate it. No word on whether or not Harvey Keitel and Brad Pitt will participate. I hope so re: Pitt. After all, it did launch his career. So the CMT Music Awards are happening tomorrow. Full Story

I know I sound like a major home teamer but Drake hosted the SH-T out of the Juno Awards last night in Toronto. It was something for everyone. Appropriate for everyone. Cool without crossing the line, respectful without being ass kissy, funny and engaging without seeming like he was trying too hard. In other words, everything that James Franco wasn’t and didn’t.
And, just to get even more maple leafy on your asses, the show overall was pretty great too. I mean, really, do I need to go any further than NEIL YOUNG? Fine then. If I have to, I’ll drop some Arcade Fire, and Sarah McLachlan, and the return of Shania Twain (who is SO lovely), and Bryan Adams and I’ll even throw in a little Bieber via Skype in there because he showed up at the beginning, after Drake opened with Lloyd Robertson (our Tom Brokaw, if you will) dropping a “Drizzy” and a “homie” on national television, and namechecked Degrassi and Tim Hortons within half a minute. Dear Gossips,
Lots of freeze and wax and hairspray at the CMAs last night. And also much enthusiasm for the return of Shania Twain who modelled two dresses for the occasion and, well, as you can see from the earrings and the double wrist gold bangles and the slight feathering of the hair, needless to say, Shania from Canada brought the Nashville flair!
I can’t even talk about her shoes.
And I have Jennifer Aniston fatigue. From The Ivy onwards, it’s been a relentless assault all week long. And it’s still not over.

It’s country’s big night! The CMAs! And People is reporting that the big surprise of the evening will be the newly single Shania Twain! She’s been keeping low since her devastating split from husband Mutt Lange earlier this year but clearly, on the industry’s biggest night, if Shania is present, it obviously means she’s ready to roll.
