They were essentially saying the same thing, Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Affleck, right? They were appreciating their supportive wives. Ben chose to phrase it so that it was his wife’s primary responsibility to “work” on their marriage. DDL acknowledged that his wife had to deal with his artistic eccentricities, and somehow it was charming, while Ben’s probably didn’t sit well with many of us, right? What’s the difference?
