Sean Penn, to me, is crusty in the worst way. He’s pretentious and self-righteous, he grandstands and has no sense of humour (remember his defense of Jude Law at the Oscars?). Sean Penn wrote about Sean Penn for Esquire. As celebrity interview/articles go, this one isn’t a puff piece. There is some insight. There is a lot of honesty, and it goes hand in hand with a lot of self-congratulation, but at least it’s not boring. He comes from a generation of actors -- let’s call it, arbitrarily, the Class of ’81: the Sean Penns, the Tom Cruises -- who are not boring, and certainly so much more interesting than the Ashley Greenes and the Chace Crawfords being trotted out one after another. Full Story

Am a bit foggy today. A cold has set in just in time for the weekend. Great. Something to rouse the smutty juices however – last night Madonna and Sean Penn met up for dinner in New York. Sean Penn has filed for separation from Robin Wright. Again. They did this over a year ago only to reconcile shortly after. Many are once again pointing to Sean’s Oscar speech in February – with Robin teary eyed in the front row clutching at him before he pulled away, Sean did not mention her at all, explaining on Oprah afterwards that it was “implicit”. Full Story
