The Essence of Radiohead
My husband and I, we were long distance for the first 3 months. Then I packed up my things, gave up my job and my life, to move across the country from Toronto to Vancouver. I was That Girl.
Those first days, on the phone, it was all about sleepless nights, that awful rush in the pit of your stomach, and sharing Radiohead when hearing each other breathe on the other line wasn’t possible. Our song – get ready for the ultimate corn dog – was True Love Waits. The only saving grace is that Radiohead is never, ever, never corny.
In fact, the only blemish on the Radiohead resumé is that their music was played at the Brad Pitt Jennifer Aniston wedding. Not exactly the best omen. Even we didn’t play Radiohead at our wedding. Too depressing. Brad’s love for Jen is over, but his love for Radiohead lives on. He was recently seen at the Radiohead show in Milan with Ed Norton before the arrival of the Holy Twins.
Thom Yorke and the boys are on tour right now. We’re seeing them at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA next week. A three day minibreak to Seattle to wind down the summer before the big move.
In November it’ll be 7 years.
