Beyonce Knowles Gossip
Beyonce Knowles gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
Last week after Beyonce’s VOGUE cover – and remember, it’s the September issue – was released, I wrote about the fact that in the excerpts that were made available, there were no quotes from the B herself, only designers. Not even Anna Wintour could make her talk. Beyonce’s gone Greta Garbo. Click here for a refresher. Read Full Intro
Guess what? I have at least one installment of Ben Affleck Is A Fool on tap today. So far. But it’s only 8am as of this writing and, well, Ben’s always good for a two-parter, especially this week.
Right now though, to open, we go to Beyonce. Because Beyonce should always be on top. Read Full Intro

Beyonce stepped out yesterday after MTV nominated her for 5 VMAs, including Video of the Year. And they’re saying she’s a co-frontrunner in the category with Taylor Swift, of course. And, well, that just reminds us all of 2009, doesn’t it? I’ve asked you this already but it’s worth asking again – now that 6 years have passed, and you look back on that incident…do you still feel the same outrage? Kanye West was objecting to Taylor’s video winning over Beyonce’s Single Ladies. Full Story

Let me just tell you, again, how it was when I was growing up, OK? Old people do this. We have to mansplain to the new generation about the superiority of our world. Back then, a Madonna video and/or performance was a major event. It was tight. It was bold. It was always imitated. Over and over again it was imitated from basements to school gymnasiums to stages. So it wasn’t true. Katy Perry is not releasing a song called 1984 as a slap-back to Taylor Swift. Her managers confirmed to Billboard that the story was bullsh-t. There is a 1984 that has been registered but it’s not hers. Katy also retweeted Billboard’s clarification on the issue which means there’s nothing to see here…
But what were those few hours like when Taylor Swift thought that there might have been something to see there? Well, around the same time that the rumour about 1984 was circulating, Taylor was also retweeting online articles. This story in ESQUIRE featuring Taylor and Beyonce with the title…
How Beyoncé and Taylor Swift Conquered the World with Pop Music
…that namechecks Katy Perry, who’s a major player in pop too, like she’s an afterthought. You think she’d want to be part of that conversation?
It’s the only flattering headline about Beyonce that’s come out this week. The Beyhive felt f-cked over after her Good Morning America shenanigans a few days ago – click here for a refresher – as people continue to not give a sh-t about her 22 Vegan Days, and, at the same time, seriously hate on Tidal. Bey is supposedly releasing an “athleisure’ clothing line with Topshop in the fall. Seems a lot more on-brand than kale. But can she remain as removed from the consumer while promoting that than she has been with the vegan business? Would you buy it anyway because it’s fashion?

Have you watched the Feeling Myself video yet? I can’t stop watching Beyonce and Nicki Minaj dedicate an entire video to celebrating themselves.
Isn’t every video a self-celebration? If you’re going to do it – and they ALL do it – you might as well do it with really, REALLY good hair and makeup, toned legs and asses, and some burgers. I change my mind about my favourite part every time I hit repeat but right now, I love it when they eat the burgers. And groove while they’re eating the burgers. And, yes, feeling themselves. Oh they feel themselves real hard.
It’s the rise of the huge female ego. Two at a time. And I am totally OK with this.
Quick programming note: I’m at Disneyland with The Social for the next few days as we’re coming live from the park this week. Have tried to prep the column before I have to leave for rehearsals and shoots and Sarah’s handling several posts while I’m on set. If anything breaks, I’ll try to write from my phone. Thanks in advance for understanding.
