Her first official appearance since announcing the pregnancy and the illness at the same time. Princess Catherine attended the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards last night in London and presented two awards, staying around 45 minutes. But still, a very good sign as she’d cancelled four previous engagements including The Hobbit premiere last week where Prince William showed up alone. Full Story

Cautious optimism... Princess Catherine was released from hospital today. She looks pretty good in the photos but in the video, which is looping on every news station today, she seems kinda fragile. Or maybe I’m projecting. Because now the narrative is all like -- she’s so brave! And, I dunno, I know I should snark but I can’t find it right now, seeing her smiling and stoically representing her family the Windsor way, even though she probably just wants to lie down on the bathroom floor and feel the cool of the tile against her face. Full Story

Katy Cambridge is responding to treatment and improving! This in a statement confirmed by the Palace AND, well, on her husband’s face, seen here as he left the hospital today, visibly relieved, right? And is it true that some American networks have sent reporters out there to camp outside the hospital? Is it weird that in the Palace’s statement confirming Princess Catherine’s pregnancy today, they named the hospital where she’s staying? As you can imagine, the paps are camping out there and likely won’t move until she’s discharged. Kate was apparently at her parent’s this weekend when her condition worsened. Full Story

A flurry of pre-holiday royal activity before the break... William and Catherine Cambridge went to Cambridge today to visit with university students and staff. The Prince wore a grey overcoat. The Princess was in pale pink with brown suede booties. And those layers we’ve been noticing. They were overcurled today I think. Full Story

The Cambridges were in Cardiff this weekend supporting the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust. They met with foundation members and then attended the game against New Zealand. Will wore a red tie, Kate wore a red coat, and her hair straighter than we’ve seen it in a while. I like it better this way, without the curls at the end and the layers framing her face. Full Story

US Weekly’s new cover features Cambridge baby news. Apparently they’re working on it. Actively. And they hope to have something to announce by Christmas. Five weeks to go! Just like Love Actually! Word is Prince William and Catherine had to wait for their round of malaria medication -- taken for precaution during their South Pacific tour -- to run its course before trying. Full Story

St Andrews! It’s so lovely, St Andrews. We were there for 3 days last year to shoot pre-footage in advance of the royal wedding. When I came home I told Jacek we should live there for a while -- the dogs would love it, he could golf every day, and I’d eat haggis all the time. It’s a life goal. Full Story

Prince William attended a gala at St James’s Palace last night to recognise the 100 Women In Hedge Funds Philanthropic Initiatives. I totally forgot. Because when I did a morning sweep of all the outlets this morning, including The Daily Mail and the UK Sun, there was no mention of it even though, as you can see, there are new photos to be published. Full Story
