The Birdman trailer has just been released, the latest from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and starring Michael Keaton in what many are calling his “comeback”. Birdman also features Edward Norton, Zach Galifianakis, Naomi Watts (who did outstanding work on Inarritu’s 21 Grams), Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, and Emma Stone.

Um…

This preview?

It looks AMAZING.

I just wrote to the two film geeks at etalk with the following message:

“This might be when Michael Keaton wins an Oscar.”

Morley replied back calling it his Rourke “Wrestler” moment. Rourke went on to lose to Sean Penn. I feel like Keaton might be more popular than Mickey Rourke. But this is stupid talk since it’s so early.

Well…

Venice, Telluride, and TIFF are getting closer. And that’s what the festivals are doing in the next few weeks – deciding on their lineups. Birdman is due for release on October 17. It’s perfect for TIFF. It’s a perfect time to start building Oscar momentum.

Also attached – Emma Stone arriving at JFK yesterday. Andrew Garfield was seen at LAX too, also on his way to New York.
