Harry Potter will be over. Like over over. When the books were over there was always the movies. But by next July, after the theatrical release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, then what? Well, then they move on. They’re moving on already. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, and other members of the Harry Potter cast including David Thewlis and Jim Broadbent attended a party this weekend to celebrate the end. Full Story

An afternoon with the Potter kids

Let’s start with Bonnie Wright. She’s tiny. Was wearing flats, as was I, and we’re the same height, only she’s thinner, though not unhealthy. Very still, small movements, extremely articulate, quite reserved. Funnily enough, it’s the Weasleys with the low energy, and Harry and Hermione who are much more animated. Full Story

A kiss from Professor McGonagall

Cute moment on the carpet at Harry Potter last night as Rupert Grint was working the cameras, a playful Maggie Smith came from behind him and kissed him the cheek. I LOVE HER. If for no other reason (although there are many reasons) than for that classic moment in Gosford Park, you remember? There is nothing more cutting, more demoralising, more soul-crushing than being talked down to by someone with an English accent. Full Story

Almost there. Not quite but almost… Tomorrow is the UK premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Today, the photo call. Members of the cast were at Claridge’s this morning to kick off a media storm in advance of the carpet and more promotion later on the in the week. As usual, of course, Emma Watson is flawless. Full Story

My friend and producer Laura went to the media screening for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince yesterday in Toronto and many of you wrote in the afternoon wondering about her reaction. The verdict: it’s good. It’s very, very good. I don’t mind spoilers so she gave me most of the details but I won’t ruin it for you here. Full Story

Just over 2 weeks away…gah! It’s crawling by! In the meantime, because of the tight schedule shooting both parts of The Deathly Hallows back to back, the kids have been limited on promotion. This is why they’ve yet walk carpet after carpet all around the world, and they probably don’t have to either. Full Story

And that can only mean one scene. Lame sh-ts, now I’m crying. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson continued shooting Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows on the Pembrokeshire Coast today and were joined by Rupert Grint – he was not pictured in the previous series that was posted. Won’t bother spoiling this with words. Full Story

Most of Harry Potter is shot on a soundstage outside of London. I had the extreme pleasure of spending a day there on junket last year – sat in the Great Hall, in Umbridge’s office, in Dumbledore’s office, at the Ministry of Magic… It made the top 5 list of best days of my life. Full Story

Hopefully I’ll have already seen it once. Seen what? What else? July 15. It’s been moved up by two days. And a new trailer has just been released that is as great, if not greater, than its predecessors. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince… There is art in trailers. They f-cking KILLED it on this one. Full Story

They made us wait, and this is why Twilight took over… temporarily. But Harry. There is no comparison to Harry. None. Never. Please! July 17 seems so far away. Every other day I watch the trailers, every other day I get the gooses, and the other day I said to Fiona – I miss reading them for the first time. Full Story
