Then and Now

Last night it was Black Swan. I was underwhelmed with Natalie’s dress. It’s not sh-tty, it’s not jizzy, it’s just... ok? Maybe we built it up too much. Maybe they know it’s being built up too much. Maybe they’re trying to control the hype, especially since everyone is calling it already an Oscar contender and the film doesn’t release until December. Full Story

Carey grows her hair out

At the Never Let Me Go presser yesterday. I had hair like this in 1997 and should have loved it more at that time. How was that 13 years ago?!?! F-ck it’s only 9 and I can’t start drinking yet. As for the film, it has not disappointed her at TIFF. Very well received and, if you know the book, of course you know it’s heartbreakingly sad, and the Academy loves heartbreakingly sad, and well acted and beautifully filmed and Carey, once again, is involved with a quality picture – two actually if you count Wall Street Money Never Sleeps, due in theatres soon, which I thought was an immensely watchable mess. Full Story

Rachel & Michael?

Rachel McAdams showed up at the Beautiful Boy (starring Michael Sheen and Maria Bello) screening on Sunday night and at the film’s afterparty at Cheval. SO pretty. Loose blonde hair in waves around her face, great tight black dress with an exposed zipper running all the way down the back – she has an amazing ass – and stacked black heels, hot. Full Story

Written by Sasha The fashion extravaganza has begun and it’s time for my weekend fashion round up! Diving straight into it, my vote for most fashionable couple! There were a lot of Hollywood duos out this weekend—Ben and Jen, Jon Hamm and long time lady Jennifer, and Marion and Guillaume. Full Story

Saturday Night Soho House/Grey Goose

It’s where everyone ended up on Saturday night. Especially the Brits. Oh and Zach Galifianakis. And that new Spiderman kid Andrew Garfield. He’s wonderful in Never Let Me Go but Laura, in real life, who is partial to Brits, wasn’t feeling his hair. His hair isn’t great. Having said that, it looked way better last night at the VMAs when he presented with Jesse Eisenberg and some other dude. Full Story

Meeting Marion

Poor Jacek. I had 24 hours of her from Saturday through Sunday and he got nothing. Saturday morning it was a screening for Little White Lies (Les Petits Mouchoirs) directed by Guillaume Canet. It’s not a bad movie, and she’s lovely in it, but goddamn, the film started at 9am. I had to be in makeup by 11am to make it to her red carpet before noon, and at 11:30am the movie was still happening and finally at 11:35pm I had to run with a bare face to slap some concealer on at the office to head to the theatre. Full Story

Bill Murray memories & please don’t be mad at me

I don’t hate on Megan Fox as hard as other people. She says dumb sh-t. She has a weird pretend face. She’s crazy and temperamental. But I have more time for Megan than, say, Shelfy. Which doesn’t mean I love her, of course not. Just that, well, now and again I am capable of saying nice things about her. Full Story

Passing out over Franco

There’s a scene in 127 Hours that is so harrowing, someone actually bailed last night at the TIFF gala nd the paramedics were called. If you know the story of the dude who was trapped and had to extricate himself in extreme fashion, you probably have an idea of what that might be like. Having said that, Franco is getting sick reviews for his performance in the film. Full Story
