Mad Men Season 7 Episode 2 recap The first thing I thought I wanted to write about where last night’s Mad Men was concerned was that Peggy was a complete and total brat. But then I started to think about it. What constitutes a brat? I guess a person who storms in somewhere wanting their own way, then slams doors and hangs up telephones and kicks trash cans until they get what they want, making everyone else miserable in the process. Full Story

Mad Men Season 7 Episode 1 recap Is it OK to feel disappointed? Not in the episode, of course, because it had everything to do with what a Mad Men season premiere looks like generally. But I can’t help but be disappointed in our people. Everyone has collectively lost their mojo, and it’s hurting my feelings a bit. Full Story

At best, the read on January Jones was “cold”. At worst, if you believe Zach Galifianakis, we’re supposed to “forget about (her) in a few years". So…she’s definitely not Hollywood’s Miss Congeniality. Full Story

Let me start your day by giving you the gift of Jon Hamm free-balling on the set of Mad Men. It’s that kind of morning. For me it’s the kind of morning where I feel like sh-t anyway so why not add to the grossness. The penis is not an attractive appendage. I don’t know why women behave like it’s the most awesome thing to look at. Full Story

Betty Draper went as Betty Draper

Have received a few emails about this -- that January Jones's costume for Halloween was her wardrobe from Mad Men, in character as her character, Betty Draper. My first instinct is that this is awesome, because that's so convenient, and convenience turns me on. Like, I get horny for anything efficient, that saves me time. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6, Episode 13 So let’s be clear here. Los Angeles is Siberia, but also the Promised Land.   It is the ends of the earth and you’ll never return from it, and it’s also the only place where you can fix your marriage and hope to be happy.   It is the worst place to go, and it is the place everyone wants to go. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 12 recap Those three items are treats on their own - it really is Christmas around this episode of Mad Men. I haven’t even begun in my own head  to address all the accents and voices in the Rosemary’s Baby homage, because I have been so mentally occupied with Sally Draper. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 11 recap Everyone wants what someone else has.   What’s wrong with us? Why can’t we be satisfied with who we are? Why can’t we see ourselves as others do? It would save so much trouble if we could just be who we are. But of course, drama happens when it’s the character whose choices make bad things happen. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 10 recap I could have sworn Don called Megan “honey” during their conversation while they each watched the riots on TV. It’s impossible, of course. He doesn’t show that kind of affection to his three-year-old, let alone his wife. But am I so off-base for thinking it might have been the case? He was softer overall this episode, a personality change that I assume is attributed to the upcoming trip to California. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 9 recap No matter how elegant and grown up you consider yourself to be, it is a long-understood truth of adulthood that you will revert to being thirteen as soon as you get back to within striking distance of your family.    This could be dismissed as just a weird little irritation if it wasn’t for the other nagging truth: the one that says that your family knows you better than anyone else, that you’re your true self when you’re with them, for better or worse. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 8 recap That was the weirdest, most uncomfortable part for me. The weird, up-and-down in-and-out audio as the hallucinations began. I never feel like there’s any way to “ignore” a symptom like that and so that’s when it began to go bad for me. Of course, it’s not like there was really ever any “good”. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 7 recap “I told you NOT to answer the phone” “Then stop callin’ me!” You remember it, don’t you? An exchange from Pretty Woman.  Another hotel, another powerful man. It felt delicious, didn’t it? Have we been ruined, a whole generation of us? To think of that sentiment – being tucked away, exclusively for his use – in a good rather than a horrifying light?  Of course, that hotel wasn’t the Regent Beverly Wilshire, and nothing about the scenario was romantic. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 6 I have been living with unintentional renos for the past four months. That is to say, we had a big fat water leak, it did immeasurable damage, and the very nice people at the insurance company have been taking care of it for us, but it’s a long process that takes a lot of time and most of my stuff has been in boxes since 2013 began. Full Story

Mad Men Season 6 Episode 5 recap That’s what was in store for us this week. That’s why we got to know Dawn last week, a little more personality to put behind the drama of this week. That’s why the previews reminded us that Don and Linda Cardellini "can’t fall in love", perish the thought – we needed to worry for her safety, and for the good Doctor’s, too. Full Story
