You have to appreciate the back here. Like I don't want to fight you. I want to convince you. I want you to see the brilliance of this dress. How it gives you what you want in the front, the body con, the contour, while giving me what I want when she turns around. Which is creativity. And design. Full Story

Marion Cotillard was in the States for a couple of weeks and some thought she’d be done with award season after Critics Choice. But we now know she’ll be back…because last Thursday, the Oscars invited her to the Best Actress party. It’s important to note how much respect she has within the Academy too to have been nominated (again) because her role in Two Days, One Night is in French (again), her second nomination for a non-English role. Julianne Moore won Best Actress last night at Critics’ Choice. During her acceptance speech, she listed off the others in her category: Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Felicity Jones, Rosamund Pike… but not Marion Cotillard. Don’t hold it against her. Instead, see it as a result of what we’ve all been assaulted with over the last couple of months: Jennifer Aniston’s Oscar campaigning. Full Story
The Oscar nominations were just announced. I’ll have more analysis later. But from a Gossip perspective, all you need to know is this…
If you’re Team Brange, you’re happy that Aniston’s campaign ultimately couldn’t deliver. If you’re Team Aniston, well, I don’t know if the fact that Angelina’s Unbroken not living up to expectation will make up for the fact that Jen wasn’t invited for the party.
If you’re on the side of Good Gossip…
We lost today.
Because, frankly, that’s where we live. In a world where all of them could have collided on that carpet.
But for those of us who love Marion Cotillard, that’s where we find our delight. Read Full Intro

Marion Cotillard was in New York yesterday. She stopped by The View and then she collected her Best Actress award from the New York Film Critics Circle in the evening in a high collar black and white cocktail dress that’s perfect on her. You ever watch Oz? JK Simmons played Vern Schillinger. It took me a long time not to see him as Vern anymore. And I don’t. Now I don’t. Now I either see him as Juno’s dad or Miles Teller’s mentor adversary in Whiplash. For which he will probably, most likely, win an Oscar. The New York Film Critics Circle just named him Best Supporting Actor today. Full Story

Marion Cotillard has been in Cannes for a few days now. She’s in the Dardennes film Two Days, One Night that is said to be one of the contenders for the Palme d’Or. She’s also a contender for Best Actress but now it’s looking like a two horse race between Marion and Anne Dorval in Xavier Dolan’s Mommy which screened after Two Days, One Night and might have the momentum. Check out Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard on the set of Macbeth in Farnham, United Kingdom. They're blurry but I thought you might want some idea of what it's going to look like. I've no doubt Fassbender, who is immensely talented, can play his character. He's into the heavy sh-t. Full Story

Marion Cotillard has been in Marrakesh all week for the film festival. I’ve been saving up her photos as a good start to the weekend: Fashion Porn! To me, the style started off not so great. The black and white printed dress? Didn’t like it at all. Look how it’s blousing at the breasts. Full Story

Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet were at Roy Thomson Hall last night for the premiere of Blood Ties. And I missed them! Etalk assigned me to cover Scarlett Johansson’s carpet instead, which we’ll get to later, but I felt this, I did. I adore them, I do. You know who else adores them? Or her? It’s Dylan, who shoots every live broadcast we feed into the theatre and would have been shooting Marion last night and thoroughly enjoying every moment, even though her dress is less than. We Canadians, we get Avril and Chad. Who are getting married in France. Over in France, they get Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet who, as far as we know, are not married and what does it matter? Their love is my love. You know what would give me great anxiety? If I had to choose between them and My Obsession, Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Full Story

James Gray, a Cannes favourite, screened his highly anticipated The Immigrant today at the festival. The reviews I’ve read have been medium to good. Once again, Gray is working with his muse, Joaquin Phoenix. They say however that he may have found a new one in Marion Cotillard. Her performance is generating some serious buzz. Full Story
It’s been two years since Pitt Porn in Cannes. I miss them so much. I miss the way Brad walked with the cast up the steps and then came back down to pick up the Jolie, like King and Queen, blessing the public. Not even Justin Timberlake dared to do that with his wife. In the absence of Brange though, if Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet are there, I will manage just fine. Full Story
