A little old fashioned

If the objective of Man Of Steel was to introduce a new Superman... Done. Henry Cavill IS Superman. He is Clark Kent. And it totally makes sense now why Zack Snyder only screentested one person -- because there was no need for anyone else. Please, Joe Manganiello. Even Joe Manganiello would have to agree. Full Story
Marvel is wishlisting Saoirse Ronan
And why wouldn’t they? She’s talented and has carved out a niche playing tough but vulnerable kids, and she has proven action capabilities (see also: Hanna). A superhero role seems like the next natural step, right? But Marvel is going beyond just putting a name on a top ten list—they’re prototyping Full Story
I am afraid for Henry Cavill

The final trailer for Man Of Steel was released yesterday. The movie opens June 14. And it’s going to be huge. Maybe not Avengers/Iron Man 3 huge but really, really big. I saw Man Of Steel last weekend in advance of the junket. Reviews are embargoed until Monday. But I can tell you about my interview with Henry Cavill. Full Story
“What are you talking about?”
A preview for Runner, Runner, starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck, aired on Entertainment Tonight earlier this week. Click here for a refresher. The full first trailer was released yesterday. See if you can make it through the part where JT says, “What are you talking about?” without laughing. Full Story

RDJ & Joss Whedon
Look, any time there are new Robert Downey Jr photos, I will always try to post them, even if there’s nothing to say beyond...I love him so much. Today, though, there are new RDJ photos AND there’s something new to say. Or, rather, it’s what Joss Whedon has to say. Whedon is working on The Avengers 2. Full Story
Kristen Stewart goes back to work
In my recent career prospectus on Kristen Stewart, I suggested it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take a break after the last year she’s had, but that if she did continue working, she needed to pick a direction and focus on it. According to Deadline, she is not going to be sitting out the summer but will be making back-to-back movies, both smaller, character-driven indies. Full Story
The bromantic comedy
That’s what it’s called, right? These movies about “boys will be boys” hijinks, stuff like The Hangover, Wedding Crashers/The Internship, Old School, Pineapple Express—basically all the movies the Stiller/Apatow crews have been making for the last 10+ years. (Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s The Heat would be the female counterpart. Full Story
Real acting, by Justin Timberlake with Ben Affleck
A proper trailer for Runner, Runner, starring JT and Ben Affleck, has not yet been released but Entertainment Tonight aired a preview the other day and, well, if you were curious whether or not Justin’s acting has improved, the answer is... Why are you curious? Timberlake’s voice gives him an advantage in music. Full Story
Brange in birthday black in Paris

We might be getting Brange pictures every few days or so during this World War Z press tour. After the premiere in London on Sunday, Brange was in Paris last night to promote the movie. I heard there was no junket for this film which was why there was such a high concentration of media -- even more so than usual -- for the UK event. Full Story
Benecio Del Toro is now a superhero
Or maybe a supervillain. Del Toro is the latest to join Guardians of the Galaxy, the insane movie Marvel is set to start filming in a couple months. Chris Pratt is leading a cast that includes Lee Pace, Dr. Who’s Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana, Glenn Motherf*cking Close, and John C. Reilly is in talks for a role that’s comparable-ish to Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson. Full Story

RDJ moves on
For many people, it’s a foregone conclusion that Iron Man 3 will be the most highest grossing movie of the year. Can Man Of Steel challenge that? I saw firsthand this weekend how people feel about Superman. Don’t know if it’ll be able to get to the billion plus that IM3 has achieved but it’ll likely come in 2nd. Full Story
Brange or GOT?

Like I kept saying last week, when Brange is around, there is no one else. But Kanye West and Kanye West decided to have their baby shower. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Please. I had a friend who was covering the World War Z carpet last night in London for the Jolie’s first appearance since the double mastectomy. Full Story
