Alan Rickman Gossip
Alan Rickman gossip, latest news, photos, and video.
Let’s start the day with some class…and we’ll get progressively dirtier, OK?
It doesn’t get classier than Alan Rickman, my darling, at the Giffoni Film Festival yesterday. Rickman directed a film called A Little Chaos, selected this week as the closing night film at TIFF2014. He stars alongside Kate Winslet and Stanley Tucci. Come on. With a cast like that, you don’t need to know the story.
I’m blinding you again today. And we’re going to roll our eyes at Blake Lively. And the Fifty Shades Of Grey trailer will be released. And Leonardo DiCaprio and Robin Thicke were in the same room at the same time. So, yeah, we’ve come down already from our Alan Rickman high.
Yours in gossip,
The big movie release this month is Catching Fire. There was a time however that November belonged to the Harry Potter movies. The first and second films in the franchise came out in November. Out of the series of 8, a total of 4 of them were November opens. So I associate November with Harry Potter, and London too, since I was sent there for junketing several years in a row, both for the theatrical releases and the DVD launches. Read Full Intro
Alan Rickman is directing Kate Winslet in a new film called A Little Chaos. It's a period piece. So...now what do you want to watch? Marianne Dashwood, Colonel Brandon, how long has it been since your last viewing of Sense & Sensibility? Recently-ish for me, actually. It was available on a flight late last year. Full Story

Please. Alan Rickman was at Stanley Tucci’s wedding. And Meryl Streep. And Colin Firth. And Patricia Clarkson. We don’t have to talk about this anymore. He wins. Tucci married Felicity Blunt a few weeks ago in the US but celebrated the occasion in London this weekend with a ceremony and reception. Full Story
A naked Alan Rickman, a half naked Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz in her underwear and panties, the always amazing Stanley Tucci ... These are the main highlights from the first Gambit trailer that was just released yesterday (I love trailer season!) and, well, as much potential as it might have to be great, am I crazy in saying that it doesn’t seem all that funny and that Cameron Diaz isn’t the main problem? Yes, of course a line like “Have a look at these” is meant to be more amusing only because it’s Alan Rickman delivering it but. Full Story
As it appeared in EMPIRE: I have just returned from the dubbing studio where I spoke into a microphone as Severus Snape for absolutely the last time. On the screen were some flashback shots of Daniel, Emma, and Rupert from ten years ago. They were 12. I have also recently returned from New York, and while I was there, I saw Daniel singing and dancing (brilliantly) on Broadway. Full Story
I have no plans to be in New York before the end of the year. But if I did, one of the first items on my checklist would be to see Alan Rickman on stage. He’s performing in Seminar at the Golden Theatre playing Leonard, a literary icon teaching a private writing class and favouring some students over others. Check out these group shots of the members of the Harry Potter family who were in attendance last night at Lincoln Square for the FINAL FINAL FINAL carpet of the film franchise. Alan Rickman’s at the back! Don’t stick Snape in the back! Come to think of though, he probably wanted to stand in the back. Full Story
Massive premiere in London today – the final, final, FINAL carpet for the Harry Potter series in the motherland. There will be a premiere in New York on Monday but ... Harry is English, England is the heart of it. And here they almost all are to say goodbye and thank you. No, thank YOU. F-ck me I am crying again. Full Story
Poster of Snape for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2. You could say it’s just a poster but... It’s more than just a poster. Like, if there’s ever an expression to sum up what Snape is, why he is, to say, without words, that one word... ALWAYS! Isn’t this how you do? Again, again, again. Full Story
If there’s anything that turns me into a total nerd, it’s Harry Potter. And especially now that we’re so close to it being over, just 6 weeks out from the release of the final film, knowing …It all ends. Sob! And then a reader called Sarah J just sent me this, a letter written by Alan Rickman describing his emotions now that he’s said goodbye to Snape… Sob! Jo always says that the enduring message of the series is the power of love. Full Story
5 what? It wasn’t intended to be this way when I started writing this morning but somehow every post so far has been about the British. So I thought I’d round it out with 5 straight and move on. You ok with Colin Firth? Or are you going to bitch about it because you “don’t care about the Royal Wedding and why don’t you just stop writing about it Lainey because none of my friends are going to watch, and you keep going on about a non-story?” I’ve received maybe a dozen or so emails like this.
